Roughies Future In Limbo
By Sum.Spud
The up and coming star, and runners up to the Demons most prestigious award is yet to confirm his re-signing with the club as the free agency period is swinging in to full force. “With my club the Demons failing to make the finals, I’ve had the time to sit back and asses my future while September footy is underway". "To be honest I am in a state of confusion on what I really want to do".
When asked whether a club has approached him with an offer, Roughie confirmed the rumours. "I have been approached by one club not currently undertaking in finals". "For me it’s not a matter of considering changing clubs because the Demons captured the spoon. Right now I am looking for a stable club". This whole year the demons players have tried hard on the field, but off the field it’s been a bit of disarray. "At times I wonder who is running the club, EBIAC is a great leader and has done tremendously, but the mixed messages coming from Okey confuse me". "He makes all the headlines at the club, (some unwarranted) but shy’s away from the captaincy when I think deep down its something he wants".
When asked what Roughie wants he replied simply "time". "To further elaborate I want time to think. I love the Demons and I am leaning on returning to the club to have another big year in the guts, but I don’t appreciate the pushing to re-sign. The season isn’t over yet, even though ours are, and I just want to weight up my options as a player".
