I will buy memberships of some sort for GWS alongside my swans memberships because with a family of 7 it is much cheaper to go to the footy with a membership than paying each fortnight. I am excited at the option of seeing a live game of footy potentially every weekend. No one will ever replace the swans in my heart but this is great news.

AFL isnt handling this well at them moment though apparently they are trying to move junior footy at least NSW to a Sunday which will make it very difficult for a lot of families to get to Sunday games if their kids play AFL any later than about 10am. I know we wont make Sundays because my son playas about 12-12.30.

GWS to be goalless in the first half. Not a good way to expose them first up in front of a captive audience watching them get pelted.

I don't know how you expect GWS to avoid it's fate .
The Suns had a brilliant opening to their stadium into the season but Sydney is a different dynamic .Both teams would benefit from a big buildup .
I don't know why it needs to be standalone a split round would be more suitable .

Billdozer says…
Nobody in NSW cares, Fumbleball is completely irrelevant outside of Victoria only the delusional morons down South disagree.

-It's Deja-vu all over again!

I like this its honest.. and fwiw No1SwansFan, All junior football in Vic is played on a Sunday and it has been like that for many years, as far back as I can remember.

Might be in the Metro area but not in the country....and when I played juniors in the EDFL we played Saturdays although that was many years ago...

How does that affect things. Do they start games earlier or make more grounds available. Because as it stands if they do play on a sunday with a 1.10 for swans games and my 13yo playing at 12 or 12.30 as was regularly the case this year then we would never make the footy. Especially when he plays up at the blue mountains or down at Campbelltown.

Will be interesting to see the response the AFL guy gets when he attends presentation on Friday Night.

In Perth they shedule games on Saturdays and Sundays now .
It's the only way to get through the number of games with the number of grounds and number of umpires .There is no clear winner .There was a senior Sunday comp that was advantaged because it played on Sundays .Now that it seen as a disadvantage as players want more time to recover for work on Monday .

Im not quite sure what you mean by 'affect things'?

Most comps Under 17's is when you first start playing Saturdays..
Comps arent run around AFL fixtures if thats what you mean..

Unlikely to happen, Hall said he was pretty set on retirement with body not being able to go through it anymore, and Sheeds has come out and said it is unlikely as well.

I read an article today saying the scheduled game that will compete with the opening of the NRL season could backfire if the Swans belt them by lots, I really hope we do by 20 goals plus, the AFL really want this I dont know what they are thinking... however if GWS beat us or even get close pretty sure Leg End will be fired up..:p

Didnt know where to post it and didnt really think it deserved its own thread (well maybe it does) ..

Swans will be playing there first game in Tasmania this year against the Hawks, seriously watch the crowd we get it will surprise a few, there are alot of Swans supporters in Tassie, and some of our clubs greatest ever, come from the great state.. Port/South Melbourne was the closest port back in the day (well still is I guess) and usually the most frequented by Tasmanians in general... Go Bloods!
