Seriously surprising. JL gave Chappy coaches votes when he played on Jezza R22 last year and spoke about the great job he did. I can only think of a fitness thing for Chappy but nothing from pre-season suggests that

Do we really need the in-fighting with our own before the game? Quit bickering and let's get behind the boys.

It's not fitness he ran his guts out all pre season and is clearly more talented

This is a pet project from JL

I am clutching at straws, but maybe Worner is in for a tagging role on Holmes or Stewart? But I would have thought Banfield could do that. Or Chapman himself. Maybe Worner is the fittest out of them.
Yeah i can’t see the rationale. We didn’t tag the likes of Bont (at Marvel) or JHF (at Optus) last year when they were cutting us to shreds.

I'm not optimistic on today's result given team news both at selection and this morning. I'd still like to see some steps forward today from the team and JL:

1. Avoid a poor start, too many times we are multiple goals down in the first quarter, and quite often this is less than the final margin
2. Hold on to a lead should we be in front at 3/4 time
3. Something that actually resembles forward pressure
4. Increasing our scoring from turnover and be more efficient at scoring from clearances
5. Not over possessing the football

Even if the result doesn't go our way at least we'd be making progress should we not come undone in the same manner as we did over the last 4 games of the season.

Just a poor response really,

By calling me a child and kid just shows your mentality.

You have no understanding of my knowledge of the game and is a lot more balanced than you may believe.

Enjoy fishing for your cheap likes.

Bit of overrating of Geelong IMO. They're all about system and even contribution. Just as many no names in their team, Knevitt, Clark, O'Connor, Neale all fresh. Only one key forward and one ruck forward supported by mids and smalls.

This isn't some seasoned superb Geelong team. Break their system and they're beatable. It's round 1 when anything can happen.

You look at the sub it had to be a defender. The side is full of them. We had the taller type defenders covered in Pearce, cox,Draper,

From what I’ve seen over the O/S and my view on how close to their best they’ve looked

Cox - looked good , maybe back to his best
Pearce - missed a big chunk , worrisome
Draper - looked good before late injury, slightly underdone
Ryan - so so form in the praccy’s , dependable but dour with ball in hand and he gets given it too much IMO
Walker - poor form in praccy’s , if he fumbles and panics today its game over
Clark - so so form in praccy’s , did some Hughes level howlers in the praccy’s…. dunno what to make of it really
Nod - star of the O/S really showed great attacking burst , crucial player in our progress as a team IMO
Omeara - decent form , I’ve been against the bloke from day dot , waste of games IMO , been solid through the praccy’s and important today
Sharp - ok form , haven’t seen much improvement in his weaknesses but has been goodish with his strengths
Reid - excellent 1st O/S , I admit I wanted to forget Bolton and get Berry and Bo Allen but this guy has been bloody good not just clean hands but ****ing spotless
Freddy ok form , frustrating player , he’s better as a pseudo key fwd / 3rd tall than a cheetah outside running down prey which we very much need , I’ve got no idea how much he helps or hinders us this year
Switta - poor O/S because of another concussion , worrisome because we won’t get anywhere without him this year , the ONLY reliable pressure player in our F50(idiotic list management that will probably cost us a legit shot at a flag IMO )
Jackson - good O/S good form , hopefully offseason upheaval doesn’t ruin his progress and focus
Treacy good O/S ,no one wants to even think about it but it could of been the best season he ever plays … it happens with fwds sometimes , most important player on the list if he keeps getting better we are golden
Amiss - poor O/S but packed on the KG’s , hasn’t played a good game in a while now , starting to loose a little faith myself , not showing much growth in his game
Reidy - terrible O/S , must deliver a combative presence in the ruck … MUST
Serong - good O/S , I’m not his biggest fan but absolutely critical to our fortunes… showing some fwd craft has been a welcome surprise
Brayshaw - so so form , love the guy and hope his new contract sees him back at his best after some patchy praccy form

Banners - oh boy
Jonno - it’s time
Worner - it’s time
Chappy - good form , along with NOD , Walker and Jonno the other guy who MUST take a step fwd IMO
Wagner - good form , pleasantly surprised by his continued improvement… I definitely was wrong about his courage when we recruited him
