I would have picked Rance instead but he had already played on thursday. Needed an extra premo def as it was way too risky going in with 2 premos and 6 rookies.

By not buying Shaw, you buy another keeper on another line. Like Gary Ablett for example. So you have lost a trade by not owning Ablett, pendles, Fyfe, rocky or some other keeper you gave up to pay Shaws over inflated price.

But I already have all of them

I'm willing to spend close to 700k on the #1 ruck then I'm not too fussed about spending 600k on the #1 Defender. It's two less things to worry about.
