The Lions should rest all their senior players for the game against West Coast the longest trip in the AFL and go all out against the Kangaroos the next weekend gives West Coast a huge percentage and allows the Lions to focus on the matches they can actually win not saying they will do that just a thought.

Resting players in round 1 Would hardly build confidence among the players if the coach thinks you may as well not turn up.

And have the longest road trip in round 1 is a good thing. Get it out of the way early rather than the later rounds when you players are nursing niggles and such.
