I cannot believe we're not getting the WC-SYD game live here in WA. What bull****. Not one game live for us throughout the whole weekend.

channel 7 waiting for the might of rugby league to be completed on ch.9 before starting it's AFL coverage in the northern states (no better than ch.9 last year)

that doesn't say the late night replays up in nsw? do u kno which games will be on at like 1am etc?

On free to air? None. Read the above post.

There are 4 free to air games, in NSW they will be at:

Friday 11.30pm
Saturday 2pm (live)
Saturday 7:30pm
Sunday 2pm (live)

Don't worry, it's only about 20 minutes delayed, so nothing major.

You are kidding right?

Why not show the bloody thing live??????

In response to the earlier poster, we actually have 4 games live in Perth - all on Fox and 4 games on delay - all on FTA.

Hmmmm....

So why not show that game live?? Is it a crime to show live footy on FTA??

Under the contract they can not show the home game until at least 30 minutes after the game starts and becuase of time difference it runs into the game in Sydney and therefore that game is on 30 minute delay.

Ahhhh, this new deal is bull****. What if the home game is sold out?? Can they show it live then?

Unless its a sellout ... which it is .... this is all bollocks and a simple excuse for the FTA's to show games delayed to cram in more ads and wrap it all around a news bulletin.

If it was on Fox it would be live.....

I repeat, live games this weekend (Perth): FTA 0, Fox 4

Why is this game on delay into WA on Ch.7 when it is live into other states?

Effectively, we are the last people to see this game. :thumbsd:

Agree. I cannot remember the last time that an Eagles or Dockers interstate game wasn't live in Perth. This new deal is screwing FTA viewers big time.

They do what they have done the last few years and that is they argue that the AFL were unable to advise them of the sell out in sufficient time and as such they dont want to "disadvantage any viewers who have planned around the initial advertising of game times" (thats a direct quote from 10 last year).

The reason the AFL cant notify them "in sufficient time" is because visiting teams at Subi have until about 4 days before the game to take up their ticket allocation, the balance then go on sale 2 or 3 days before the game and are sold immediately but as this is not notified to the networks until a couple of days before the game they claim its too short notice. Every Eagles game for 2 years has been a "sellout" by normal definition (which allows for a number of tickets to be un-sold) but they have used this excuse every bloody week.

Its a joke that suits the advertising and programming of 7 & 10 and the viewers are not considered important. It is free though

Really looking forward to the Sydney/West Coast game on Saturday night. Should be a cracker!

I am also looking forward to it, I'd like to see how they put the off field stuff behind them.
