Hoping this is how our award is going to work so my Round 1 votes are as follows.

5 votes-Kane Johnson
4 votes-Andrew McLeod
3 votes-Nathan Bassett
2 votes-Rhett Biglands
1 vote -Brett Burton

Best team man.

3 votes-Nigel Smart
2 votes-Rhett Biglands
1 vote -Simon Goodwin

Rookie Award

3 votes-Graham Johncock
2 votes-Michael Doughty
1 vote -Daniel Schell

As already posted on the other thread...
Biglands 5
McLeod 4
Johnson 3
Goodwin 2
Smart 1

What a Magnificent victory.
I thought Biglands swung the game today in the ruck.
The 2 and 1 was hard to pick given the efforts put in by many players such as Doughty,Hart and Johncock.

Hope Roo is OK next week, bring on the Cats.

And I dont want to see Stevo picked in your 54321 either K

My votes

5 - McLeod!! Three goals, plenty of possies and his tackles near the end of the game were excellent.
4 - Johnson
3 - Biglands - took control at the centre bounces and helped set up the team for the win.
2 - Smart - Played very well on Grant who normally gives us hell.
1 - Stevens

Top Team Man - Smart!
Best Rookie - Johncock! great goal and some really good defensive work.

Best Players

5: Biglands
4: Johnson
3: McLeod
2: Smart
1: Bassett

Biglands changed the game when he went into the middle, continually won the tap and negated Darcy, Johnson was a 4 quarter performer, Macca was special and came to the party at important times while Smart and the Hound were very solid down back. Stenglein, Hart, Goodwin and Edwards were close.

Team Man

3: Stenglein- wonderful job on Johnson
2: Goodwin
1: Hart

Rookie Award

3: Doughty
2: Johncock
1: Schell

Thanks to the wonders of new technology I haven't seen the game yet but it comes on later tonight on Fox so I'll let you know my votes.

By the way, is there any prize for the winner? For what it's worth, I'll put up twenty to fifty for a trophy or something.

Best on Ground
5. Johnson - Fantastic 4 quarter effort by Sugar. One of the best games I have ssen him play, which was critical considering Roo & Goody were down a bit.
4. McLeod - Not as consistent as Johnson, but turned it on when we need him to. 3 Great goals.
3. Biglands - Helped turn our fortunes around in the ruck. Just love his competiveness & commitment. Was he pissed off or what when Darcy was given that free.
2. Smart - Wonderful job on Grant, who failed to score a goal. Looks like the match committee have learnt he needs a challenge each week.
1. Bassett - Did anyone notice Aaron James, apart from the blatant push in the back (when B Johnson goaled)? Also, great desperation on the last line of defence when things got tight.

Best Team Man
3. Stenglein - B Johnson was forced to do most of his best work up the ground.
2. Smart - Great to see him in vintage form & lifting by the challenge of playing on one of the games best.
1. Biglands - Is this guy the soul of the side?

Best Rookie
3. Doughty - Ran out the game well & kicked a couple of important goals.
2. Johncock - Showed why he should have been playing late last year with a very promising debut (particularly after a bad start). This guy will be exciting to watch.
1. Schell - Could have been better if hadn't missed a couple of set shots for goal, but his 2nd goal was very clever.

1. Schell - will get better - loved his 1st mark

sapaul - I was just tallying the votes so far (they are by no means final). I think we decided on the other thread that Crows supporters have to Tuesday to post their votes. I was just interested to see how close it was for BOG between McLeod, Johnson & Biglands. Also, the rookie vote is now tied after Dezzmo's votes & there isn't much in in the best team man between the top 3 either. Keep the votes coming!

Ah sorry Kane, I just noticed your *note votes part, I only just noticed you had 2 and 1 on there, I thought they were people you were still waiting to put votes in, my mistake, apologies.

5 votes. Kane Johnson.
4. Andrew Mcleod
3. Rett Biglands

A Bulldog perspective if I may. Ignore them for your cumulative though (as I'm sure you would), as I miss too much of what the opposition do.

5. Johnson - he killed us all day and did it with poise - looked very good.
4. McLeod - very good again. The scary thing is I'm sure he can play quite a bit better.
3. Biglands - never really noticed him before. He made a big difference.
2. Smart - Grant was rusty but Smart played a very good game. I felt if Grant had been able to do a bit it would have lifted the side (or at least the crowd), but Smart held him well.
1. Burton - didn't do alot but what he did he did very well I thought.

K9-54 - That's a pretty fair assesment. I had the same best 4, then was tossing up between Bassett & Birdman for 5th. I chose Bassett, because Burton dropped out of the game a bit too much for my liking (but he was dangerous & that 2nd goal was a beauty).

For your interest, IMO the Bullies best were:
5 - West (just keeps on finding the ball)
4 - Robbins (would have been best if he improved his disposal)
3 - Johnson (good battle with Stenglein)
2 - Alvey (exciting prospect)
1 - Bandy (would have been better if he kicked straight)

Updated Cumulative votes

After Spog's votes:

Best on Ground
44 McLeod (5)
40 Johnson (4)
33 Biglands (3)
16 Smart (2)
6 Bassett (1)
4 Burton
2 Goodwin
2 Edwards
2 Stevens
1 Johncock
150 votes (10 voters)

Looks like Bunji will get BOG, followed by Sugar, Rhett & Smarty. Basset fighting off the Birdman for 1 vote.

Best Team Man
17 Smart (3)
13 Stenglein (2)
12 Biglands (1)
6 Goodwin
2 Johnson
2 Stevens
1 Hart
1 Edwards
54 votes (9 voters - topjars we need your votes)

Smart with his job on Grant seems to have BTM sewn up, but close for 2nd between Stinger & Rhett.

Best Rookie
24 Johncock (3)
21 Doughty (2)
8 Schell (1)
1 NTD (Spogs - is this no one else deserve a vote?)
54 votes (9 voters - topjars we need your votes)

This is a close one, but looks like Johncock has the edge on his debut.

Still plenty of time to vote for Still Crowing, MarksGirl-kbcrowgirl, noddy & any other Crows supporters out there.

My $0.02

5 McLeod - Magic 3 for Chas please
4 Biglands - A stand up performance.
3 Smart - Maybe cos I was 5 meters from him for half the game, totally gave Grant a bath, attacked the footy, and backed himself to race away from Grant to head off trouble.
2 Edwards
1 Basset - The backs trio of doom had the dogs jumping at the gate to be let out!

Team Man
3 Johnson - Ruck work gave us the edge
2 Hart - pure class and "Joe Cool" under imense pressure
1 Burton - popped up like a cork in the ocean when needed.

Rookie
3 Johncock - aggression, commitment, skill
2 Schell
1 Doughty

Overall, a good win. Nothing like being a Crows fan in Melbourne when the boys get up! ;)

Noddy, can you change your 1 vote please, Fitzy is too old for the rookie category, maybe you meant Schell?
