Autopsy Round 10 vs Saints

Some posters really need to acknowledge and have some respect for the opposition. To say an 8-point win flattered St Kilda is ridiculous.
Twice they came back from a 20-point deficit and wiped it away in the space of minutes. Twice we responded.
We deserved to win. But to say we deserved to win by more is being ungracious and provocative.

With all due respect there tugg, the result did flatter the aints.
We were by far and above them in control of the game and the only reasons they were able to claw their way back into the game, initially were through our standard errors that we still have to address and later by the aid of the idiot's whistle. Take a good look at the last quarter and the whistle contributed to at least 3 of their goals..not to mention the non whistles that kept the ball in play when it was in their FL, in the hope that they could score.
The majority of their scoring came from counter punching that started from us making a stupid error or desicion and being caught out of position. Whereas we more often than not, moved the pill with pretty classy tight gives then spreading and then completely breaking them open, which allowed JR etc to waltz into open goals..
Back to the autopsy, supremely important win for us in the context of this young teams development. It would have just about blown the wind out our sails if we let a game like this go. Yeah the aints use the we were undermanned excuse, but yeah too, we looked classes above them in the way we moved the ball..would have been gutted if we let it slip, we didnt and the results around us have thrust us into big time finals contention and I mean big time...
All that remains now is to ream Freo next week and forge our way up another few notches on the ladder..

"No arse" sounds like Nahas? Another reminder for RP that our short people might just be worth more he has been repeatedly stating.

So now we know how to win, even when everything is not clicking.

Personal highlights were the continued improvement of Big Ben, The Nose, Titch and Ellis, as well as a defence which never says die.

Also the best game from Newman I've seen for a long while (though his form has been trending upwards) and good to see The Ant showing a bit when it counted.

And a special mention for 'No Arse'. What a blinder when the chips were down.

As for Lids, Cotchin, Martin and Jack Jack...the cream is rising.

Can't we come up with something better for Ellis? I suggest either 'The Answer' (Number 42, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) or Sir Ellis (his initials are BE, British Empire)
I got No Arse but the Ant I'm mystified by. Also Big Ben ok, but he looks like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. I have this strong image of him knocking on Gale's door, calling 'Benny, Benny, Benny?'

Tigers have come a long way and credit needs to be given to all, the one concern I still have is when we dominate parts of quarter's we dont make them pay on score board and can be hit on return? But rapt in how they are going.
