we have our brownlow medalist back! woohoo!!

Hippy looked to have nearly an amazing game, woohoo!

They are #1, and showed it. We showed we need the bye, we need a good kick up the backside, and we need some fire by our mids.

some players had probably their worst or 2nd worst match of the season today.. gah.

I would have liked a hard fought loss. the capitulation was sad to see, but in the end it isn't the end of the world. though I may forgo viewing this forum this week ;)

Melbourne were bloody good in the second half. Best footy I can recall any team playing. But we dropped our heads and that's inexcusable.

We dominated in the first half but Melbourne were able to minimise the damage.

Backline clearly a weakness. Have to hang on a bit better when our midfield is getting beaten.

Midfield nowhere near good enough. Gawn dominated and the other Melbourne mids lifted in the second half.

Forwards fairly poor apart from Bailey and Hipwoods early marking.

Struggling to find a vote after Bailey. That second half was terrible. Just completely stopped after Zorkos terrible 2 minutes. We showed we could run with the for the first half and then they killed us.

Gawn Oliver and Petracca just monstered us. And then their run and pace exposed us. Too many slow players and exposed by gut running. And a few lazy forwards who don't work back enough

Glad we have the bye but think some players need to have a look at themselves

We went in with a gameplan to attack them hard and fast, early on the in the piece (Similar to GWS) and hoped that we would knock em out early.

It didn't work as the Demons capitalised on their minimal entries in their 50 early on and so we suffered the consequences that we tired out earlier then them in the second half.

Full credit to the Dees, best side in it at the moment and we matched them for 80% of the game, I'm not to displeased.

Good time for a break after that gruelling match. Rest and reset for a big second half of the season. We'll be fine. Go Lions.

That is hard to stomach, we were world beaters 1st half. They showed signs early that they would smoke our insanely slow defence, all they needed was to win the ball from the middle and Gawn gave it on a platter to oliver and petracca. Lester out is no problem. Get Madden back in and go back to what we have been doing.

Very poor in the second half, but credit to Melbourne - their guns lifted in the middle and we couldn’t handle it.

Harris played basically a lone hand in the second half, the pressure up field fell away completely and we let Melbourne turn it into a track meet. That’s never going to be our game even if we selected out fastest possible side. Game was lost through poor game sense and lack of effort, not at selection.

Games like this at why I can never get behind Zorks and strongly think he shouldn’t be captain. Dees probably overrun us anyway but can’t turn the ball over from off the ball free kicks.

Same goes for Adams and Oscar - while they were minor incidents if you touch above the head off the ball you open yourself up.

Hope Neale is closer to 100% after the bye. Some excellent work from him in traffic tonight even if he wasn't at his best.

Forgettable night for a few. Whole team looked gassed - Dees played the second half on their terms. Robertson/Bailey/Lyons/Andrews all impressive.
