Re: Changes?

Out: Farmer Helbig Browne Miller White
In: Webberly Hislop Graham Griffiths Astbury

Please bring in Griff and Assberry, they have the potential to be our bookend CHF and CHB for a 10+ years

Re: Changes?

Based on Coburg's game:

Griff - looked ok but not quite ready.
Graham - was brilliant in the second half but maybe 1 more week @ coburg.
Hislop - not ready, match fitness.
Nason - in and out of the game but overally pretty good.
Gourdis - was the best of the our KP players.

So

OUT: Helbig, Miller
IM: Gourdis, Nason or Edwards if fit.

Re: Changes?

Browne undid all his good work, i have a fair amount of egg on ym face with him. was plain woeful bare constructed anything worthwhile, oh and who taught him to handball , what's with the U9 dribbler:confused:

farmer is a mile off AFL standard, he fair dinkum drops every uncontested chest mark comes his way, he either shits himself or is a complete hack, and his disposal is almost always a hook around the body out of trouble , never able to compose himself..we have many better players in the ranks..

helbig...he shows a few signs but we simply have too many others that should come in ahead of him right now. he fumbles under pressure. disposal is average at best most of the time...he may very well be alright, let him go back to VFL for amonth

I'll let Miller off for last night coz JR was just as woeful in the conditions and abackslap for Tucky, was very good when he came on

INS: Hislop webberley, Edwards, post , Gus

Re: Changes?

Out:

Helbig

In:

Astbury/Gourdis

we were a tad short vs port. Need to gell the backline again with grimes out. whoever gets in stays in for 5-8 weeks I would think.

Won't be 5 changes. Unless there are injuries. Browne will be given more games. 1 good game, 1 bad game is all even. Gus got plenty of games when many thought he was struggling...

White was ok in my book, plenty worse than him and he was coming back from a few out, he should play and will get a job on Malceski or Kennelly probably.

I think Helbig should be dropped and probably Farmer, he just looked too rushed last night. Conditions didn't help.... but... back to Coburg for mine.

When is Edwards available? He should be in with a tall... maybe Astbury deserves another crack.

Re: Changes?

I dont think Asbury should come in yet, he was not that great for Coburg, he needs to start winning his own ball and improve his spoiling. He needs to play at the lower level to get confidence.

Re: Changes?

I no I'll get smashed for this but just read along for a bit, Why has no one put Riewoldt in the out's? Just because he is one of the Best KPF in the comp doesn't mean he automatically get's a spot in the team.... He has done nothing the last 2-3 week's Yeah he kicked 3 goals but 1 was from a free and the other 2 were crumbing goals. I love Jack as much as any other Richmond supporter but seriously guys he hasn't been doing his job (taking mark's, crashing packs) the last couple of weeks. Maybe give him 1 more week, but he just doesn't look the same. Just my opinion, Now the changes.
Outs: Riewoldt, Miller, Helbig and McGaune.
In: Griffiths, Webberly, Astbury and Hislop.
(If Riewoldt doesn't go out Griffiths doesn't go in.)

Re: Changes?

In Hislop

Out Farmer

The small SCG ground might suit Hislop playing forward! His days with the club are limited if he is not given ONE MORE opportunity to prove himself.

Re: Changes?

So here I've read mcguane, rance, tuck, reiwoldt to be dropped among others.
And this amazing Griffiths to just stroll into the side. Why do people think he will just all of a sudden start getting a kick if he's thrown in before he earns it?

Poor Mcguane and Rance cop so much shit too. What are they supposed to do?
And Tuck. Who said drop Tuck?

Post needs to show he's up to it in the twos.Simply our depth isn't up to scratch yet unfortunately.

You do realise commonsense isn’t allowed in a changes thread? It violates the code.

Re: Changes?

Anyone who suggests Helbig should not be dropped must only have been listening to the game on radio.

Helbig got the pill ok and did some nice stuff, but his disposal was rubbish. At the end of the day i couldnt care less, all i want for him to get another 10 games in so he is raring to go next year. Dropping him is pointless.

Hellbig hasn't been setting the world on fire, but has done some nice stuff. He does usually finish his work quite nicely, but last night wasn't a good night for him (amongst alot of others). I think most people would say that 10 to 12 games from this year would be good, so with Hislop knocking on the door (the 'in' one, not the 'out' one) i thought he would take his place. And up until Sat night, i thought i may have seen Farmer playing that position as well.
Anyway it'd be in someway good, if we were able to 'drop' Hellbig after him after a reasonable game. There were a whole bunch of guys who had poor games (which i think alot was due to Ports excellent pressure). Gotta be careful in picking 1 or 2 out of that to drop.
I'd leave the group pretty much the way they were, for redemption.

Re: Changes?

There is know way ****ing known that Dimma will go into the game against Sydney at the SCG without Miller in the 22...
Some of the looney tunes in this forum should understand one important thing, apart from Axel the midlfield racked up numbers reserved for HB flankers....;)

Re: Changes?

up that to 2 dude...raise you in Gus out Browne. ;)

Im still going by Dimmas comment 3 weeks ago that we are playing the year in 4 game blocks. The first game of the 3rd block Browne came in for Gus, and contrary to what the majority of opinion is, i dont believe Gus was dropped for his Doggie game, but was rested and Browne bought in to see how he struts his stuff. Even though he was poor against Port (Brogans ruck work was worse) Im going for Browne to get the Swans and Lions game, then it will come back to which ruck is in the best form to start the 4th 4 game block which is a biggie - Dee`s, Tankers, Bombers and GC up there.

Re: Changes?

As another poster stated I thought the team balance was all wrong.

How can you replace a defender (Grimes) and another potential CHB (Post) with a forward (MIller) and a half forward flanker (White).

After having watched Coburg I am convinced we should have Gourdis in as a direct replacement for Grimes; Post in for Farmer as he is just as mobile and taller and can be used as a utility; Astbury for Helbig for added height; and the big Griff in for Miller as he is our future and at least he can kick.

Bringing these guys in means we have good size all around the ground. We still have enough midfielders to deal with the small SCG.

I would love to see that team play. We have been too short all year and have had to play out of our skin to win games this year. This line up would create headaches for opposition teams.
