Great round of footy and yet our game is the one on the Friday night
You really have to wonder in what universe the AFL actually thought this was a good scheduling idea?
Eagles and Crows only have 2 friday night games each, despite finishing 2nd/6th respectively.
But it will never happen as the V/AFL refuse to schedule 2 non-vic teams on a friday night.
Bias aside, Eagles v. Crows would've been cracking choice of friday night game too (and would be a great choice for round 23). Instead, we'll all be treated to Hawks v. Bombers this week :thumbsu: . Typical VFL.

Hawks by 69 48k
Power by 2 50k
Lions by 17 25k
Cats by 2 45k
Eagles by 13 40k
Blues by 4 38k
Tigers by 41 45k
Swans-Giants draw 25k
Demons by 1 65k
(I struggled through that round, what a tough one to tip!)

I have been doing it for years. Hope you enjoy this.

Essendon 3.3.21 -- 5.6.36 -- 9.9.63 -- 11.9.75
Hawthorn 5.2.32 -- 9.7.61 -- 14.12.96 -- 22.17.149
Hawks could win this by well over a hundred points if they wanted to. And they need a percentage booster. But I think they'll coast to a very comfortable without getting out of second gear. Essendon to be competitive for a half. Hawks' small forwards run rampant with four each.

Port Adelaide 9.5.59 -- 12.7.79 -- 14.8.92 -- 16.9.105
Bulldogs 4.3.27 -- 8.6.54 -- 11.9.75 -- 15.12.102
Bulldogs blown out of the water early before a tight contest ensues and the figs nearly pull off a remarkable victory. Power hold on as Dixon gets five.

Brisbane 4.1.25 -- 8.5.53 -- 9.9.63 -- 12.12.84
Fremantle 1.2.8 -- 5.6.36 -- 9.8.62 -- 16.9.105
A tight game where the dockers get the job done. The lions are competitive for three quarters before the Dockers overrun them in the last.

Geelong 2.2.14 -- 6.4.40 -- 10.7.67 -- 13.10.88
North Melbourne 4.1.25 -- 7.6.48 -- 12.8.80 -- 16.12.108
Comfy win for the Roo's as they do what needs to be done. Waite and brown kick four each while Hawkins gets three for the cats.

West coast 3.1.19 -- 7.4.46 -- 12.5.77 -- 14.6.90
Adelaide 1.2.8 -- 4.6.30 -- 6.9.45 -- 12.12.84
The Eagles dominate the first three quarters but a flurry of goals from the crowd in the last (four of which being from Eddie betts) sees them level the scores before Kennedy coolly slots his fifth and the winner after the siren.

St kilda 5.1.31 -- 6.8.44 -- 7.15.57 -- 11.18.84
Carlton 2.3.15 -- 4.7.31 -- 8.9.57 -- 12.12.84
An errant St kilda throws the game away with five shots at goal to win the match in the last minute. Armfield kicks three for the third week in a row while in Riewoldt's absence Membrey bobs up with four.

Richmond 8.5.53 -- 16.7.103 -- 19.12.126 -- 19.19.133
Gold Coast 4.0.24 -- 8.2.50 -- 12.6.78 -- 15.9.99
The Tigers get the job done in convincing fashion against the Suns, inflicting their ninth straight loss. Lloyd kicks five majors while the Suns spread their goals amongst ten players.

GWS 1.0.6 -- 8.5.53 -- 9.12.66 -- 12.16.88
Sydney 2.3.15 -- 4.5.29 -- 8.7.55 -- 12.8.80
The Giants win a close encounter against their neighbours - Jeremy Cameron kicks doc and buddy five in an impressive shootout.

Melbourne 2.1.13 -- 5.3.33 -- 7.4.46 -- 11.8.74
Collingwood 2.2.14 -- 5.5.35 -- 8.6.54 -- 11.7.73
The Pies show a lot of fight and almost get over the line. But they don't.

Bombers Vs. Hawks: Do I even need to give a prediction for this? is it even technically a prediction? Fremantle almost beat Essendon by 100, Hawks should get over that easy.
Power Vs. Bulldogs: If Port wanna make finals they should win this, but I don't see them beating the doggies.
Lions Vs. Dockers: Good win by Freo last night, they could very well win 2 in a row I think, but again I think Lions can get over the top of them at home. its a hard one.
Cats Vs. Kangaroos: The twin battle.. have you ever known twins? Especially as toddlers? Double the tantrums, this will be the coaches box this Sat night. Geelong in a close one.
Eagles vs. Crows: This is an interesting game, Adelaide playing good football again, Eagles mostly winning at home. I think the eagles will win.
Saints vs. Blues: Saints have been showing good signs then going and getting pumped, i think they will win this though.
Tigers vs. Suns: The people tipping us to blow the suns away are being generous considering how poorly we played against North. I don't see us losing though and we better bloody not.
Giants vs Swans: really hard game to pick, GWS if they lose this seem to be going on the track of last year. I think they will beat sydney at home.
Demons vs Pies: Collingwood playing poorly again, and Melbourne really put up a fight against hawthorn, Melbourne will win.

Surely the AFL could've swapped the Essendon-Hawthorn game with the Geelong-North game earlier in the year? Staggering.

You really have to wonder in what universe the AFL actually thought this was a good scheduling idea?
When they did the draw before CAS outcome I'd imagine.
I'm all for floating fixtures though. Once the punishment was handed out the game should of been changed to a different time slot.
Oh well atleast it's gets the worst game out of the way first up.
Hopefully 40k plus there but margin will be 130 points

If Hawthorn don't play their Box Hill team I'd be staggered. Have their firsts well rested for the week after :(

Box Hill Hawks played today against North Ballarat in wet conditions. The 5 day break will make it highly unlikely Hawthorn will rest anyone for Friday nights game.

Have a feeling this will be Freo's last win of the season.
They certainly have a tough run of games at the end of the season , however , most of those are at home . They may snag an unlikely win against middle-tier sides (like Port) or ones they have had the wood over in recent times eg Geelong /Eagles , but Gold Coast (even though it's away) is a more realistic winning opportunity . They'll be the underdogs for every remaining game this season .

Ummm, have you watched Carlton play this year. We've only conceded 100 points twice to sydney and North both of which are more superior sides than saints. Nick reiwoldt i think is injured and they lost 4 talls v Adelaide in a near 100 point flogging. Carlton also came off a 6 day break after beating geelong without two players followed by losing kruezer for a half. They are now off an 8 day break to a 6.5 (with the obvious huge injury concerns for saints off travelling). I really hope you're way off base here.
