Hopefully people don't mind a "Bigfooty apprentice" kicking this off :)

Evans is on 79 at 3/4 time in the Melbourne vs. Essendon game. He might crack the ton yet, and will probably be worth 160K-odd after this round.

Is he worth trading in?

Pros:
Could be an excellent M7
Still cheap

Cons:
Gotta be careful trading for rookies this time of year
Comes at a premium now.

Krakouer for Evans is tempting.

Lots of Ds out with injury. Is he just another Gysberts? *puts on Aughra voice from the Dark Crystal* Don't know. Don't really have a need for him myself (have great cover everywhere 2+ deep in my benches).

The only reason to trade him in would've been to make cash and at 80k that would be ok but not worth it now after his price rise.

I'm not sure I have room for Scully as my 6th mid, but I feel he could be a sneaky (and very unique) cheap premium at 328k. Looked fantastic last night and no doubt will become a future DT gun.

What's your thoughts?

Duigan> Dan Nicholson. (97 DT points in less than 3 quarters of game time!) Has been the Sub in his first 2 games. Got subbed into the game in the 3rd 1/4 in both games for returns of 40 & 57. I like the cut of his jib.:thumbsu: + Gives me extra DP links to Jacobs and Hibberd who are in my mids ATM.:)

Or if the cards fall the right way this week scoring wise, straight swaps for Krak>Didak
& Duigan>Bob Murphy (for DP like to Gilbert in my fwds)

Doing something similar, probably Harris down to Nicholson which will give me Hibbard and Nicholson in the mid pine and Jacobs on the def pine plus the usual playing def DPP's.

The other one that looks pretty good is Howe. Definately helped the D's in the 3rd, although I'm only 2 upgrades away from a full team and already have $300k in the bank so might not need anymore rookie downgrades.

Holding steady on all trades for now. Being a rookie dream teamer I have only 9 left. Got good cover on all lines, and am sitting just outside the top 1000 teams, so barring any long term injuries, will hang on for the ride for at least the next 5 weeks.
Made sure I only had minimal players from teams in League finals, so only really have to cover Petrie, Selwood, Gibbs and Heppell in that order(Hopefully not Selwood).
Fingers crossed Sylvia and Franklin are out for no more than a couple of weeks.

Libba -> Rookie for some cash
Thompson/Toy -> Premium back. Thinking Suckling, any suggestions? Already got Deledio, Gibbs, Enright, Heppel, Goddard and Adcock.

I'm wondering when the mid-season revitalised Goodes form will kick in (as per usual trends) and then I will bring him in and my team should be complete as it's going to get without putting myself in danger at this stage... usually it's about this time of the year... but he's got a couple of rubbish scores still rolling through so his price isn't going anywhere.

Adcock will be back to his 270k starting price in a couple of weeks time. Should be under 300k after next weeks game. 188 B/E straight swap for a maxed out bench rookie after Rd 13. :):thumbsu:

Sorry if this is a bit ignorant - I'm fairly new to DT.

Apart from the obvious of covering injuries, why else do I need to keep trades up my sleeve. How many is a good number to have left now?

Covering injuries is a big one. The extra depth (3 benchies per position instead of 2) will also help though.

Some coaches will conserve trades for later in the season to be able to sideways trade premiums with late byes (ie. Geelong players).

If you're playing for a league win (as opposed to overall) then the extra trades will come in handy for the DT finals.

I'm planning on saving 5 trades for injury cover and relying on the depth/quality of my bench players to see me out for the rest of the year.

Was holding onto Swallow (GC) until after Swan's bye but just can't wait so going Swallow to Selwood. Will use most of my cash but I dont see any fantastic downgrade targets currently, although might go Stanley to Nicholson.

My team will then be complete with 9 trade apart from getting Sandi back in after their bye.

I don't have Goddard and like the Saints run home, $225k on hand

1. Stanley to Goddard for ~$70k

2. ~$155k to upgrade Harris to a Mitchell/Priddis/Pavlich type or more aggressively Swallow to Murphy/Ablett/Judd. Murphy may jump just out of reach.

Buckey, Lower, Puopolo, Hibberd or Jacobs --> Broughton

No idea who I l trade out though

I'm actually considering a similar trade, his return to form has me very interested.

I'm considering:

Matera -> Rookie Forward (not sure who, Isaac Smith if he is named or maybe even a punt on Jeremy Howe.... will have to look into it further but they seem to be the only forward options I don't have, I won't be cashing in the rookie I get in, will most likely be stuck with them for good)

Toy - Broughton (or another premium like Fisher, Toy has become dead weight on my bench and with the likes of Puopolo, Jacobs, Hibberd and Lower on my roster I really don't have a place for him anymore.

Team will look like this:

Backs: Gibbs, Adcock, Shaw, Goddard, Enright, Deledio, Broughton or Fisher
Bench: Lower, Puopolo, Jacobs

Mids: Swan, Murphy, Bartel, Andrew Swallow, Ablett, Hibberd
Bench: Evans, Mzungu, Prestia

Ruck: Cox, Sandilands
Bench: Smith, Derickx (don't ask)

Forward: Franklin, Goodes, Chapman, Fyfe, Riewoldt, Knights, Rioli
Bench: Darling, Lynch, Isaac Smith or Jeremy Howe.

My team will be almost complete with just 1 more upgrade to make in my midfield later in the season.

Seriously thinking of getting rid of Sandilands and playing a Cox/Smith combo for the rest of the year.
What does everyone think of:
Sandi>Bailey
Swallow>Ablett
