ESSENDON BOMBERS

In a dour affair, the struggling Dons went down to a resurgent Port Adelaide by 16 points at Adelaide Oval.
Started poorly and never really looked like getting back into a serious position in the game.
Poor kicking is poor footy, and we are seriously poor. 6 shots on goal in the first quarter for no goals is not only disappointing, but it's also borderline unforgivable.
Halfway through the second quarter and Andrew Phillips gets a goal, but we ended the half having kicked 2.9.
We actually seemed to play seriously well when the rain got going, which is a nice change.
It's raining all day today, so... Maybe we'll have a good crack.

I know it's our 150th celebration, and the line has been to celebrate the club and its success and not the last 12 weeks, but jeez it's hard to get geared up to do so.
We showed a bit more the last time we played, but Carlton is playing for a Top 4 spot this season. We just have to hope that we can get it together, even just for this week, to put smiles back on the faces of Essendon supporters who have been doing it tough.

F*** Carlton.

Essendon by 3.

9 news saying there’s a late change for us and they’ll announce it at 6:40pm. Surely it’s McGrath?
You’d think so, they did say they’d give him every chance. So unless there’s someone else we don’t know about that’s probably it.

More mid minutes for Perkins and Hobbs, maybe Wanganeen or Waterman comes in to take their forward minutes?

Potential match-ups:

Reid on McKay
Laverde on Curnow
Kelly on Silvagni
Ridley on Martin
Hind/Redman/Heppell on Owies/Durdin

Young on Wright
Plowman on Stringer
Marchbank on Jones
Saad on Guelfi
Docherty/Boyd/Newman on Perkins/Hobbs

We could stretch their defence here. Plowman is terrible one on one and Marchbank hasn't played in 3 years.
