Sorry to annoy some folks, however Dunstall’s concerns are always right. He was such a process based player and it shows in his commentary. He was calling it continuously.

I'm normally one who doesn't get sucked into Dunstall's commentary but tonight it was grating me. But to be honest that's because he was 100% spot on.

I don't feel we are going to take that next step if we can't put teams away when we are in top.

2. BALL MOVEMENT! I have been saying it all year. Our ball movement coming off half back has been too conservative and pedestrian. Always trying to pick for the perfect option. Too slow. Then out half forwards don't run together, running the ball into HF.

And its been papered over by out 3rd problem.

3. INSIDE 50 OPTIONS.
We have been patting ourselves on the back about how clever we are with Gunston. BUT ITS TOO ONE DIMENSIONABLE! When it works, yeah the coaches can suck each other off with how clever they are. But what did Clarko always say, you need multiple spread of goal kickers. We know that.

And this is why our ball movement up the ground has been pedestrian. We are looking for the perfect avenue, for the perfect delivery to Gunston. But if the oppo can shut that down, then you get what you get tonight.

I feel Sam is having a poor coach year. We are a middle of the road team at them moment.

Can complain about umpires all we want but it was atrocious shooting accuracy that cost us. This is an ongoing problem for us and it needs to be addressed else we will have more nights like this. Whatever they are being taught at training needs to change. There has to be some accountability as this will cost us big time later in the year

First time I've seen Bevo outcoach Mitchell - was quite bizarre.

I mean, kicking straight would have changed the game - but the way we just kept doing exactly what they wanted was a hard watch.

Can't see how we can blame coaching for this.

1-11 loses the game. On top of that our forward entries in the second half were nothing short of terrible, the fact that we managed 1-11 with such terrible looks undersells how badly our forwards and half forwards choked this game.

We kick a normal percentage of our attempts at goal and it becomes a comfortable win. We show more composure on our kicks inside 50 in the second half and we have a VERY comfortable win. Unless Mitchell is telling them to come up with 11 misses for every goal, this isn't down to coaching.

What you mean...apart from West's goal they would be expecting to kick pretty much all of them. All either straight in front or within 15m. Maybe if we kicked even remotely straight we wouldn't be here.

Some of it reminded me of early 2024 when we'd mouth off before converting. We got sucked in again, and put more pressure on ourselves. After the meek tackle you just leave Selwood alone to live with the demons, then meek just calmly converts, but gloating before the kick is ridiculous and then all the pressure goes to meek and when he misses Sellwood is laughing. We really fail to kill opposition spirit, even 50 points up against Stkilda we couldn't get them to roll over.

We take our chances early in the 3rd and that game would be over.

Can we please have a team rule. No gloating until the score is on the bored. Just kick the bloody goal first.
