Well our 'regeneration' is accelerating at warp speed.

This is completely unexpected, if anyone offered and 8-5 ledger by round 13 at the start of the year, you'd be suspicious of a scam!

This is a development year and that development is humming along as well as sydney's re rise.

I know I'm 'grounded' about our development and it's time line and don't expect what we've already achieved.

So I'm just gonna enjoy it.

We might just make finals, and that would be a massive massive confidence boost for the club as a whole, not just the youngsters.

When people were saying it would be years before we contend again I was saying "nahh" Collingwood never stay uncompetitive for long. You don't play in 40+ Grand Finals and god knows how many finals campaigns by being a team the stays uncompetitive for long periods of time.

Having said that I am amazed at how well we are playing this year. I expected improvement but I didn't expect this.

...Checkers is also just a battering ram for us, he competes so hard. It is a sign of who he is. He was 50/50 for most of the week, didn't train at all and then comes out really sore and then performs. Yesterday and the Carlton and Essendon matches have been among the best wins I have seen. Essendon I hate and beating them on ANZAC day seemed at the time something to hang the season on. Carlton I hate more and beating them when they think they have almost arrived was manna from heaven. does life get any better. Melbourne I hate less but nonetheless hate with a huge passion and derailing their season made a great trifecta.

Can I have Essendon on 24/7 for the quaddie then chuck in Melb 5/8 and Carl 20/8 for a H&A big 6. Its no dream now.

I think people on here are getting too carried away. Cox plays a good game every 2 years so I wouldn’t be getting too excited with his game today.

Also, we won’t win a premiership with this side so we really need to get some high draft picks and finishing half way up the ladder at the end of the season is going to screw us for years to come. I would rather finish bottom 4 over the next 2 or so years and get some good young talent.

I had your view until I watched the replay. That passage of play that led to the final goal was 2018 football. Our best was better than theirs imo

He was in the protected zone, but legally. Moore played on before Pickett had had time to clear the protected zone.

I don't consume enough football media these days to see whether decisions like this are discussed, but Pickitt can not be interfering in that play, irrespective of whether Moore has played on or not. It goes against everything the rule is designed for.

100+ times in a game you have a player in Pickitt's situation correctly not interfere with the player with the ball. On random occasions you have players penalised 50 for doing exactly what Pickitt did. And on random occasions umpires allow players to interfere with the play just like what Pickitt did. And it is solely reliant on a split second decision by the umpire either implicitly or explicitly calling play-on.
