Prediction Round 15- Changes v Essendon at Optus

Maybe Davies could have done better against Darling (I doubt it, but maybe), but this week he is a worse option than Draper because he is too small for Wright and too slow for Caddy.

Draper might be having his struggles, but at least he has better leap/reach for spoiling Wright, or mobility for following Caddy.

As a counter argument to that, it’s Peter Wright…

I don't think it has anything to do with 'panicking'. It's just a case of swapping the 22nd player out for someone else. Someone who's been playing decent football at Peel.

And it's also nothing against Draper, who everyone can see has potential. But his performances this year haven't been the best - although admittedly, being asked to play against opposition smalls was a big ask earlier in the year. And in the two weeks since being recalled, he's given away as many free kicks as he's had disposals. I think he'd benefit hugely from a consistent run at Peel.

I just think Davies deserves a shot. Even though this board has seemed to almost write him off.
Yeah, the crux of the matter is most just dont like Davies, I think a higher number of those that have written him of don't watch Peel.

Maybe a fairer argument though Id possibly consider Chappy for Caddy anyway

It's a bloodnut thing isn't it...

It's the memory of Davies crossing the ball from beside the point post to Clark but kicking it too high, Clark unable to take the mark in his fingertips and then Davies not being close to the next Freo player to get to the contest of the ball as it came to ground even though he was objectively the closest aside from Clark.

****ing dominated the clearances last season and was so eye opening.
Hopefully the players are ready for it this week

Essendon lost the clearances, they just had a run of 3-4 centre clearance breaks in the last quarter, including the final bounce. From memory I think the main one was Shiel in the early part of the last quarter.

There's also the ranga factor. Don't pretend it's not a thing.

In: Aish, Noddy
Out: Darcy, Switkowski

Interesting - thought Aish was done and Dudley was a lock. Not sure how I feel about it but we'll be a tad faster through the middle.

Nice changes. Makes sense.

Aish and NOD in for Switta, Darcy
Getting a few positional changes as well if I had to guess

Banners goes from HB to HF to replace Switta. Aish comes in to HB

Jackson moves to ruck from midfield/forward hybrid to replace Darcy. NOD comes in to mid and we probably use Bolton a bit more forward

Think purely from a fitness perspective.
Dudley played on Saturday. 5 day break is complicated for the following week as well. He gets another game on Saturday and has a 8 day break for the next Sunday v St Kilda.

Darcy out is pretty significant and peeps can stick their head in the sand all they want but Darcy is not being "managed"

Kind of staggered Dudley couldnt get back though. Sign a contract extension at your peril at this place and it looks like Banners is back forward and ahead of him...

Would like Frederick back into the full forward role he did v GWS. Dominated. The Switta role is better suited for him.

I'm very disappointed with no Wombat still.

Especially if they move Banfield forward instead of bringing him in.

Mate. It’s not significant though? Expected to rain again, Essendon have named a debutant ruck for Goldstein. It’s the perfect game to manage Darcy. He ll get 15 days off from North to St Kilda game. All whilst being at home.
