SPS for Goal of the Year
Continued close ones

Hated:
Umpiring

Learnt:
Carlton have all the makings of a contender, just need time and a couple more pieces.

Liked:
- Swans taking their rightful position in the 8
- GWS drawing 2 games straight
- Carlton looking like a team that is going somewhere
- The close games are amazing this season

Hated:
- Not much to be honest.

Learnt:
- The 8 could be anything come seasons end

Liked: A win Interstate

Learnt: Bulldogs are toast, Buckley is burnt toast, Cameron is simmering

Hated: White away strips as usual, media panic about Bugg and Falour hits, the season is going so fast...

Liked: Freos kids look the goods. 2016 could end up a great draft crop.

Learnt: Sydney could go all the way this year. Look like the best team ATM.

Hated: quality of commentary of most games this weekend.

Super Nick never stops and now the greatest mark taker in history also
That first half
Carltons growth
Hawks rebound
Zorko, what a beast

Disliked:

Membreys elbow
Dangerfield slacking off in supercoach this week :p

Liked: Crows back in form, they play very entertaining footy when they're on.
Learnt: Amazing how quickly the Hawks have turned around their form from earlier in the season. I thought it would take years. They are a tough nut to crack. In guys like Brand, Burton and Heatherley they really do have young talent.
Hated: Another ****ing draw. Two points is better than none, but it's like avouding a hangover by not drinking. It works but it's also incredibly unfulfilling.

Liked - Our win over Richmond and our goal kicking clicking, makes a big difference when you kick straight, keep playing like that and we should play finals.

Learnt - Bulldogs have gone backwards while other teams have improved, can't see them playing finals now and a premiership dynasty is just a pipedream.

Hated - Membrey being reported and likely suspended when he's been in great form, North throwing away a win which cost me a tip.

Super Nick disgraced himself last week.

If Fyfe did that you would be calling him a genius.

But nah let's not put any of the onus on the fact that Logue was not paying attention to who got the free kick at all....

"hey umpire whose free kick is it?"
"Membreys, number 28"
"ok I will throw it back directly to him, thank you ump"

Not hard.

Fremantle player is a dumbass = Nick Riewoldt disgraceful how now?

Liked: Brian Lake choking as a boundary commentator in the Geelong v Brisbane game. Highest scoring side of the season. Duncans unprecedented form.

Learnt. Foxtel Go uses download quota on my internet plan despite having a Telstra ISP. Free data on phone, but not when watching via PC.

Hated. The extremely one sided commentary in the Geelong v Brisbane game. Constant fan and commentator fetish to compare 1st round draft picks to current AFL champions without feeling embarrassed.

Liked: Not really much to comment on as most results this round did not go our way.

Disliked:
- that first half in the St Kilda VS Richmond game. What were they doing? That was the worst half of football I think I have ever seen from Richmond. A disgusting, deplorable, horrible, nasty, lazy and ordinary half of football where probably only Astbury out of our 22 "playing" was good.

Learnt:

- St Kilda can kick ass! As bad as that was from Richmond, that half was one of the best I have seen any team play this year. They barely made any mistakes, kicked goals with ease, and hit targets like it's simple. They punished many of our turnovers on the scoreboard and smashed us all over the ground. Even our star players like Cotchin, Martin and Rance (who rarely go missing at the same time in H&A games) went missing for a lot of that first half. I might watch that first half again just to appreciate scintillating footy.

- Houli is more important to our team than we think. He provides our main run from halfback, and his absence was glaringly obvious in both the Port Adelaide and St Kilda game. We were significantly less efficient going out of our defensive 50 in both games. With both Houli and Vlastuin out, that aspect of our game has taken quite the hit.

I respect anyone who can watch a replay of their team getting taken apart. I like watching the Crows but I'd never watch a replay of round 1.

Liked - Mitch Duncan's game has gone next level this year
- Youngsters having massive impact on Game eg: Nihuys & Curnow
- Maddie's Match

Learnt - Bulldogs Gone
- Hawks & Swans Scary
- Port Adelaide are under-rated

Hated - The standard of Commentary is a joke. Need more Jason Bennett, Adam Papalia and Shane McInnes (6PR caller listened to him for Geelong V Freo 3 weeks ago Outstanding)

Liked:
Raz's 5.
SPS goty
Dees defence on the last line when the game was in the balance
Will Langford - flukiest goal kicker there ever was

Learnt: one game could make a season. How the saints and tigers play this weekend after that game will define each teams ability to make the 8. Etihad isn't a bad place to be this week

James Kelly need not retire this year. Has been in fine form again this

Hated:
Elbow on Merrett. 20m of no scoring in ultimate footy :(
Umpiring was ridiculously out of form this week.

Liked:
Ryan Nyhuis, 4 snags on debut in his first game forward and a win.
The SPS and Higgins goals.
Contested marking!

Hated:
The umpires overruling each other in the Sunday TV game and reviewing a goal with absolutely no chance of a change.

Learnt:
A good win or bad loss can send you from 4th to 12th or v/v. Some reasonable teams will miss out this year.
Jack Silvagni is class, built like a jockey, but all class.
With all the coaching at clubs, it has taken 8 years to try Liam Jones back?

Liked: Nyhuis on debut.

Learned: Clayton Oliver needs to just play football... and maybe Trent Cotchin as well.

Hated: Umpires looked out of their depth at times this week. Panicked at times and just blew the whistle. Please, please don't guess.

Hard for Port Adelaide to be taken too seriously, considering they're still yet to beat a team sitting inside the top 8
Are Sydney not in the 8? I thought they were.

Liked:
--- Crows' dominant second half over Dogs (but I'm biased)
--- more upsets and close games ==> riveting season

Hated:
--- HTB confusion and inconsistencies, in most games. The function of getting the ball is to use it.
The function of tackling the bloke with the ball is to catch him holding-the-ball, to gain possession. I understand the concept of "prior opportunity", but if a bloke has time to duck, fend, raise his arms, pivot/twist or similar before he is tackled then that is "prior opportunity". Holding the ball!
Remember years ago when blokes used to pretend to bounce the ball before/while being tackled (Bartlett was the Master) to get the holding-the-man free? They ironed that out, but now players are just putting the ball down or pretending to take it, or faking handball by repeatedly punching the ball that they're holding onto like life itself, for the same reason.
Likewise, if the ball is dislodged by the tackle which was the purpose of the tackle, to get the ball off the bloke or trap him htb. Much is made of protecting the player going for the ball especially head-high tackles :thumbsu:, but how about rewarding a good tackle? I saw many examples on the weekend where a player took possession and braced himself, or waited for the tackle, to force a stoppage. NO attempt to use the ball? = Holding the ball.

Learned:
--- week-by-week, Sydney are becoming dangerous, contenders.
--- Dangerfield can, and does, get better *mutter mutter gripe*
--- Buckley's a Dead Man Walking now, surely?

Liked: Nyhuis on debut.

Learned: Clayton Oliver needs to just play football... and maybe Trent Cotchin as well.

Fairly certain he did, was massive.

Liked: seeing the crows play like the form we had from rounds 1-6, big tex and JJ playing blinders.
HATED: West Coast making Port look good. Richmond losing to let port take top 4 again. (as you can see I HATE port)
Learnt: Sydney will win the flag.. they are finally in the 8 and there is no turning back now.. they will win the flag with that side they have.

Liked: Fantasia 5 goals, Nyhuis Debut, Dayne Zorko continuing an excellent season. Jessie Hogan playing footy again. Carlton's rebuild looking better each week.

Hated: Gold Coast's effort (after quarter time) and Richmond's effort (1st half). Greenwood's elbow on Zac Merrett (Greenwood very lucky he got Merrett's shoulder first).

Learnt: Collingwood still haven't fixed foot skill issues. Rodney Eade won't be coach next year at GCS.
