The ridiculous scenario is that if Carlton lose, Voss is almost certain to be fired. If we lose, we'll be told we don't have the list and the flu has been going through the group.

Is Voss even that useless of a coach?

For years we’ve been gaslit by the media and general public about Hinkley being a great coach and him doing an amazing job to turn a poor list in to a finals contender but this whole Voss situation is the completely opposite narrative.

Hinkley apparently saved us even though it was only 5 years before he arrived that we played in a GF at the tail end of a 7 year period of contending that yielded 1 flag from 2 GF’s, 3 minor premierships, 5 top 4 finishes and 6 finals appearance.

Hinkley is consequently allowed 13 years at the helm without even making a gf before he is amicably moved on, with some in the media even still to this day thinking it is a harsh.

And compare it to Voss, who comes to a club that hasn’t played finals in 9 years and the last year they did in 2013 was by default as they actually finished 9th. He immediately takes them to within a bees whisker of finals in 2022, a prelim in 2023, and finals again in 2024 but at 6 and 8 with a heap of injuries but still 21.1% above us he is in the firing line more than Hinkley ever was in 13 years.

Sacking Voss now would be like if we sacked Hinkley halfway through 2015.

It’s actually ridiculous.

I’d take Voss back as a senior assistant to Carr in a heartbeat.

He's not a bad coach at all IMO, but sacking coaches is a bloodsport at Carlton. They relish it.

Worst thing they can do is sack another coach looking for a quick fix.
