Apologies for asking these questions as I couldn't go and didn't watch the replay. Had a bad day (my soccer side got thrashed and my mate torn his achilles).

What were the key match ups especially in defence. Understand Kritter played well, but think we were better served if Harris and Bassett took the 2 talls. Maybe Kritter on Cameron? (He wouldn't have kicked 4)

In hind sight was there too much attention given to Richo?

What was the starting lineup?

How do you assess Rohdes coaching yesterday? Is he still green? Spud the Dud couldn't have out coached him?

Did the easy win v Geelong gives big heads?

Is it because we are a fairly young side that we are up and down?

How did we lose to them?

What changes would you make this week?

Our back 6 were Kretiuk (Richo), Harris (Stafford), Bassett (mostly on smaller guys like Campbell or Tivendale), Shaggy (Bowden), Bubba (Cameron) and Robbins (Roden, Coughlan, whoever).

Bassett was the one who looked out of place as there wasn't really anyone suitable for him. Perhaps he could have gone forward.

Darcy, West, Hahn and Johnson started in the middle with Alvey and Murphy on the wings. Alvey was back to his usual "wingers don't have opponents" mind set. Hahn couldn't get his hands on it.

Bandy, Bowden, Garlick, Gia and Eagleton all lined up around HF with Brown on his own inside 50.

Dimma, Power, McMahon and Wiggins started on the bench. Wiggins came on fairly early.

It wasn't so much that Rhode was outcoached, just that early on the skills were dreadful (Gia missed short targets 3 times by landing the ball in front of the forward) and we run out of legs badly after about the 20 min mark of the 3rd.

We had 3 kick-ins in a row in the last without a single lead for Bubba to kick to. Twice he went long to Darcy (sat it on his head rather than out in front) and the ball got fisted forward and once he tried to go short to West that didn't come off either.

Probably Croft for Harris will be the only change but Eagle, Dimma and Garlick would not want to play that badly two weeks in a row.

Crofty looked like he ran out of puff and if he does play maybe fullforward. He wouldn't be able to play on Green or Neitz.
He also fumbled a bit without very much pressure on him.

Did Harris play that bad? Not giving him a chance?
Croft not ready from what I have seen. Couldn't play out a werribee game!

From what I heard would drop at least one of Eagle, Dimma or Garlick. Don't think Garlick had a good rnd 1 either.

I think the reality is they have to have huge seasons to remain on the list.

Each would be in danger of being delisted if they continue with being simply serviceable players who play the odd good game among the bad ones. We know what these guys can do and despite their endeavours it is unlikely they will play any decisive role in advancing us to the top of the ladder and a crack at a premiership. Harrison fits in here as well.

The youngsters like Faulkner, Birss, Power etc are the future and should be taking their spots.

Further more when it comes to re-negotiating contracts with Brown, Darcy and co these players are perhaps the most expendable. The money we save on these players contracts will help in keeping these stars.

Harris didn't play badly, he was just so focused on defense we got nothing out of him. The more he plays the more relaxed he will be and the better he will get.

I can't see a matchup for him this week. Neitz, Green, Robertson? Maybe Jolly if he plays forward.
