Is it worth upgrading rookies to a premium and benching someone like Toby McLean or upgrading McLean directly and keeping cash

Another defender forced out. Have replaced D4-6 the last 3 weeks.

I'm happy with my on-field players and match-ups look OK for the weekend. So I'm planning (at this early stage) on getting rid of some non-playing benchies to hopefully improve my back-up and continue generating cash.

Both players seem to have reasonable JS, which is exactly what I need.

I've already downgraded Crossley > Frampton to generate some cash. Now have 108k to spend on my second trade. Not sure which starter I should upgrade, as my lowest 4 averaging starters 5 game averages are all around the 100 mark. Maybe a second benchie downgrade like Mihocek > Dawson? Would give me a swing with Ahern

If you have decent bench cover and you want to dump McLean I'd recommend trading him and keeping the cash.

Thanks spruiker. I'm leaning that way. Maybe use the 250k or so cash to turn Ahern into a premo M/F like Heeney next week.

I thought about cutting Mclean as well. Has only tonned up 2 times out of the last 8 but he does have a huge ceiling with scores of 152 & 143 this year. Who are you looking at as a replacement for him or Ahern upgrade target?
