Understand we had the short turnaround from Perth but we looked so spent and the midfield was just useless in the last. Good to hang on for the win but the form we're in heading into finals is concerning.

Are the Lions being secretly sponsored by whatever company makes Valium. Or perhaps heart medication

Does that mean we can get a discount. Need some. I can't take this.

Less emotionally charged from that compared to the past month, maybe I'm just getting used to these close games.

While we aren't playing our best, we keep finding a way to win. While there is positives in that, I just don't think that'll work come finals time. We have the best opportunity next week though against Collingwood at Marvel to find our best once again, no pressure either as no one in the footy world will give us a chance to win.

So many periods we were down in clearances and overall dominance but found ways to wrestle back control, something we couldn't do at all against Gold Coast. Pretty evident that we've worked out to just swarm the ball in the final few minutes and man up our numbers forward of the ball for the hack kicks. Good work from Fagan to identify how to close out these close games.

Hugh was magnificent in his 150th, could very well be a club legend when it's all said and done. Andrews was back to his best, thought Motty did some good things, McKenna worked his way into the game eventually as well.

We need more out of Neale/Dunkley though. Not sure if they're injured but definitely waaaay down on their best, basically since we lost Ashy.

Will close in saying that we've still got a good run ahead leading into finals. Massive test versus the Pies and than a final home game against a pretty average Saints. A few weeks to get back to our best, it's doable and if we do, we'll win the whole bloody thing. Go Lions.

They beat us in just about every key stat and we still won so I can say that was a ‘character building’ win.
Ironically when we met them down there we won all the key stats. Weird games against them this year where each loser probably should’ve won.

Adelaide threw everything at us playing their grand final and still couldn't get over the line against a 6 day break from Perth.

Feels like the first 10 mins and last 10 mind is where we played like traffic cones. Need a dramatic shift in our midfield, centre clearances are a big worry. Best 5 would be McCluggage, Lester, Cameron, Andrews & Bailey.

Form of Rayner, Berry, Hipwood & Zorko is a huge concern with their minimal impact and ineffective ability to do much in the game.
