1. We are the second youngest list in the AFL.
2. Our recruiting has been diabolical, but Trout has now been moved into an Admin role and Libba is now in the chair.
3. We aren’t sacking Richo, he doesn’t miss targets and goals. He has a team of assistants working to develop the team and they will continue to work hard.
4. It’s a great year to finish bottom 5
5. Our list will evolve over 5 years, so get used to it!

Hello saint kilda people,

Long time lurker, first time poster… just wanted to assure everyone that we are deadset on track for a second premiership.

As you can imagine, it's been a hectic move of training bases so we're pushing the date back a little from 2020 to 2025-2030, but rest assured this current lull was always coming, we were expecting it and have everything in hand.

We are working though negotiations with Nathan Browns management about putting him into a Han-Solo-style cryogenic deep freeze situation, ensuring he is in mint condition to be part of next flag outfit… possibly timing it with his 200th game… can't confirm yet obvs.

Last spoiler - ruckmen that don't catch or kick the ball will make a huge comeback in a few years, so grab yourself a superdog and stick fat.

Carlisle's only mistake was he assumed his opponent (McGovern? ) marked the ball. That's why he stopped (looked at the ump for a free kick cause he thought he had been blocked). As soon as he realised the ball was live, he kept playing. Nothing in it.

I know it’s mentioned but seriously what has Ben Dixon achieved.

Firstly I am not criticising him purely based on our goal kicking numbers but on the techinical side of things. Mainly because I don’t think you can judge goal kicking improvement unless you can chart all shots on goal this year vs last year etc. I will say that I’m sure Dixon guaranteed improved goal kicking by like 15 per cent. I worry about the confidence of players like membrey and Gresham and mccartin kicking for goal it just does not seem like their techiniques have improved even gone backwards except for Bruce.

Cool, that all makes some sense. Fair to say though that the reason people are annoyed and angry and disappointed is because it's already been six full years since we last played finals. If it's another five to go then that's a long time in the wilderness.

Lonie’s error:

Q2: Sandringham kicking to the Hampton end.
Ball is held up in a congested centre square.
Most players are either in the square or Footscray goal side.
There are two sets of players Sandringham side of the square (forward and defender).
One set deep, the other mid forward.
Lonie is by himself at high half forward, Social Club side.

The ball clears the congestion and is kicked to Lonie who is clear and marks at high central forward.
The defender at mid forward has to separate off his man to guard Lonie.
His forward is now clear.
Our other deep forward leads to the flank and his defender is left stranded between the two.
Meanwhile, Sandringham players clear the congestion and run forward either side of Lonie to accept a handball. Footscray opponents are behind them.

So:

Lonie is at high central forward.
He has two forwards clear in the forward 50.
He has one defender in the forward 50 stranded between the two.
He has at least two Sandringham players (clear of their opponents) running either side of him ready to accept a hand pass.
Lonie’s only opponent is the Footscray guy guarding his mark.

This is a gimme goal.

What did Lonie do?

Fell into a divot in the turf in front of him, and couldn't get out.

Because he's short.

Then all the other players walked away and left him there.

Because he's crap.
