Well I was hoping to watch the game again on tape, but a mouse ate through my electrical cabling whilst I was at the game & stuffed up the circuit (& hence I have no copy of the game, a $132 electrician bill & my exhaust fan no longer works).

Any way getting back to the football, what an awesome first half. If we keep playing that brand of footy, I would be most disappointed if we can't get 50K to a game. BTW, if that was a 42K crowd yesterday, there must have been atleast 48K last week. I reckon there counting is a little susprect. Not too worried about the lapses in the 2nd half, as it is hard to keep that attack up on the ball for 4 quarters. What was most pleasing compared to last week, was the improved use of the ball, better conversion & the team things which we are doing (ie. knock-ons, tackles/pressure, giving the ball to a player in a better position).

An absorbing game which showed we've come a long way since the beginning of last season. Loved Welsh's game and it's clear that Biglands is "THE MAN" in ruck.
Bickley showed that age hasn't blunted his enthusiasm and skill. Hope he doesn't retire TOO early.

It was a pretty even team effort and to think I had the audacity to tip the Swannys by 3 points!

I think the most likely to be dropped will be Nelson even though I thought he did ok when he did come on.

What is the matter with Clarke? The Doc has faded the last two weeks...

I know what you mean with Stiffy - but the question is - who would he start instead of??

Clarke has been given no time in the last two games

He is still a very valuable player, who had a terrific season last year.

Only injury towards the end ruined his season

I still think the decisiion to go into the final with Biglands and Marsh and not Clarke was a very bad one.

Clarke IMHO is still our Number one ruckman and is more reliable than Rhett who is still learning.

Clarke

I agree with Jars458 that Clarke is getting out of touch due to a lack of game time. He should have played more minutes late in the game as Biglands was tiring (he certainly fell over a lot). I would like to see Biglands continued to be used 1st to jump into opponents, then Clarke come on later to leap over the opposition ruckman when they are tiring (it is useful to have 2 different types of ruckman).

Can't do anything about the past, but it was definitely a selection blunder to pick Marsh instead in last years final (don't think it would have made any difference, as it was the loss of Stinger which really upset the team balance).

Stiffy should continue to come off the bench, but probably deserves more minutes. He should get at least 1-1.5 quarters per game.

Also, agree with topjars that Nelson should be the unlucky player to miss if Roo returns this week. He played serviceably when he came on, but Beinke is more valuable as a forward option.

Sounds like Bickley will play on next year if he continues his current form for the season & why shouldn't he! Also, I think he is still about 6 years younger than Bradley! Smart should also go on if he continues his stellar form as well.
