I think we all agree the umpiring hasn't gone down hill badly, the Melbourne Cats game was horrendous. Worse still is that there is clearly bias and differing umpiring interpretations apply depending upon the time of the game and position.

15m is not applied in the backline where play on is universal, where as dinky 10m kicks in midfield are fine. You can't touch a player in the 1st quarter but in the last 5 minutes of a game the AFL umpires sh*t themselves and won't pay anything obvious and pull out BS frees.

Happens too often across too many games

A half mark and a half free kick does not equal an Adelaide possession via a mark or free kick, that's not how it works.

I find it astounding that anyone who has ever seen a game of football can believe that this is only 'half a free kick'.

This wasn't a little jumper tugg for a split second. he was bear tackled in a marking contest.

There is no grey area here, free kicks do not come more obvious than this.

Huh?
You realise that one team's back line is the other team's forward line?
Your post makes zero sense.
Simply put, they're much more comfortable paying frees to a team that is in their backline for the reason I said. Which is frees to players in their forward line can impact the scoreboard and cause more controversy.

Was probably a free, but it wasn't a mark. That said it wasn't some howler, plenty of these frees are missed all the time. I would rather umps err on the side of not giving a free than giving one. Was fine either way with whatever decision was made, was only a bit later on replay it looked worse and people have to remember umpires have one look that's it

Don't be silly. Only the Crows get bad decisions go against them.

Like our game against them last year. They had the rub of the green all night, including some absolute howlers. But only the Draper decision was incorrect apparently.
And don’t the self entitled twats let everyone know about it. No wonder they are universally disliked.

The AFL has apologised each time for the 5 incorrect decisions in games that have been decided by a goal or less that we have been on the wrong side of.

Don't tell me that you wouldn't be dirty if it happened to your club FFS.

It's unlucky but every club gets a few against them, least you haven't got done in a GF like we did against the Dogs.

The positive is these decisions have a way of turning around so while you are rebuilding and you are almost ready to contend, get the unlucky out of the way, benefit on the good calls when you are really contending
