Pretty important this round and I'm particularly interested in some.

Possibly Peaking -

Salopek: has been great and has significantly improved his average (up over 90). My concern with him is that he wont maintain it, especially because he relies alot on getting the ball from others. (although his teammates do seem to like the ball in his hands). So, at 375k and an BE over 80, what is one to do? He can easily be traded for someone like Mitchell (downwards actually) and this in my mind is effectually an upgrade.

Houli: He seems to have done is job, making 80 odd grant and with his two 90's about to come out of his average, he probably wont up much (if at all) over the next few weeks. With someone like Armitage about to rise, it could be Houli that makes way.

Mattner: Again done his job but I don't think he's a keeper. Up over 300k and there are quite a few quality backs if you've got an extra 30k or so up your sleave. BE of 87 this week but with more pressing issues in everyones back, do you really worry about someone averaging over 75 - probably not.

In terms of my cashies: Wonaman, Nbrown, Palmer, Masten, Bird, Rioli, Gamble & Tippet. The only one to have near peaked would potentially be Brown and I don't think there is much value of trading him to make a measly 40k.

Bottoming out -

Mitchell: Seems like this is the weak to look at him if you're going to at all. Down around 360k which is very very low for someone of his scoring ability and consistency. In terms of value I think he (minus Kornes) is the best in the mids - considering a BE of 59.

Swan: 1 more week I think but I'm guessing if you want to jump on him it should be soon. BE of 130 and a price of $404K, should see him fall below $400k after this round, which is excelent value for someone of his notorious scoring ability. TOG is a worry but he still manages to score. I'll be looking very closely at ways to get him in next week.

Chapman & Riewoldt - will likely slide a little more over the next few weeks and with players like Deledio, Burton, Porps etc coming up to meet them, that should also create some interest.

Thoughts?

...and who else do people see as the best candidates for buying and selling this week?

Interesting post.

I have Salopek but I think I will keep him a little longer, until I see two avg performances. Until then I think he is safe (unless I can clean swap for Swan or Corey in a week or two). Keeping a lazy eye on James MacDonald for when Melb turn the corner (I already have Mitchell).

I also have Mattner and although I agree he has topped out, the most appropriate trades will prob slide more in price than him for the next week or two. Have my eye on Milburn, P.Burgoyne and even S.Fisher, but I can trade cheaper in a week or three if Mattner continues to pull a 75 avg.

What about Porps? Has he topped out? Up to $325.5k from $256.2k. Has a B/even of 89 which is just above his avg of 86. Again, the issue is who to trade him for. Chapman has a b/e of 129 and BJ a b/e of 104 (against Syd). I already have Pav, Roo, and JB. Richo and R.Murphy's prices have already 'gone' i would appear.

Ellis/Hill are well discussed elsewhere and should prob go.

Thoughts on Brendan Fevola?

Im definately considering to get rid of him this wk as i believe he peaked last week at 368 000

Price now down to 350 000 .... with a BE of 143

very inconsistent with a MIN of 36 and MAX of 138

IMO Steve Johnson looks better long term

365 000 and BE of 70

Hill should have been ditched last week - for those that haven't, do so now. You can squeeze in JB/BJ as their only 300k!!

Other noticable forwards to get are Volt, SJ, and quite possibly PAV in the next 1-3 weeks

Thoughts on Brendan Fevola?

His time has come, 7 goals for an 83 the week before should have sealed it for most people I think.

He's out this week for me, probably looking at bringing in BJ who is probably going to score consitant 80's at a minimum once he's 100%. My original plan was to bring Fev in for a couple of weeks in the hope that he was inspired by his 'incident' and would make some money, kept him one week too late though.

Might even look at going Fev to Mayne, and bring in BJ for Tippet/Gamble next week, I think Gamble might be close to peaking in the next fortnight.

Eade practically said after the game/on radio that Johnson's fitness will now rise substantially and will be 95% fit against the Swans. Good time to get him unless Eade is taking bs.

I have Mayne on the bench - is he going to get a game anytime soon?

I'm just going to take a chance on BJ with his 100+ B/E this week, shouldn't rise substantially, and could drop another 5-10k for next week. If he is 95% fit then he should be an awesome pick up at today's money.

Not sure on Mayne as I haven't been paying attention this week, but if he's fit I'm sure he'll be back in straight away.

kerr is in the top 5 players in the AFL and is only 311k but is gonna be suspended and also has a BE of 117 and will still drop in value.

What about Sam Fisher? Down to $326k. Do people rate him as a Premium back option? All the StK talk seems to be around Gram and Goddard. Despite a 45 this week, he scored 100 the week before, 92 in round one and a fist full of 70 somethings too.

I understand that people want to trade out players when they have made some $$ + have been good value and can possibly get an underperforming gun. But it looks like everyone is looking at some of there "good" players to trade out just because they wont make anymore $$$. These players have gone up in cash for a reason, because they are are in good form and are playing well, seems illogical to trade out some of these players. I know there are alot of individual, potentially benefitial trades, but im talking on a very broad basis. Seems like alot of wasted trades imo, but then again what do i know.

Get KANE CORNES in now if you don't have him already!
424k be of 83, wont be this cheap again.

True, but he also wont be too much more expensive than this, probably hover around the 450k - 480k price range. You don't have to get him just because of his bottomed out price. But yes he is extremely good value at 424k.

houli has 2-3 weeks left in him yet. got a 96 two weeks ago and has a BE of 25. if he can somehow get another 90 odd he could still make up another 30k. im just hoping valenti can come in ASAP since hes my other centre benchman ...then i can trade houli to the best 83k player so i can get the maximum amount in :D looking to do the same with gamble as i have morton from the hawks and he seems to be close to selection also.

swan, last chance will be next week for sure. he might still even pull out a 130 actually this week.

symes, one more week and id say he's peaked. maybe one more after that.

ellis, peaked for sure.

Jake Edwards, should be named this week to replace Hartlett, has already played 2 games, no brainer really.

Considering Jake Edwards was dropped before Hartlett was back into the team, I would not call it a no brainer just yet.

I'm not 100% sure that Jake Edwards will replace Hartlett in the Carlton team.
