Came here to see what people were saying about who to downgrade to Horsley with between Magner & Shiel, can't disagree with getting out the GWS player because I haven't planned for bye rounds at all. May as well make a little effort where I can

You wouldn't believe the amount of crap I copped on here for trading Gibbs to Greene after Rd 2. (Saw the writing on the wall as soon as he went back to defence) Gibbs averaging 91 & Greene averaging 94. That trade also gave me enough cash to upgrade a non playing def rookie (L Brown) to Deledio that week and he's been the highest averaging defender this year so far. To think I got laughed at by BF's so called DT experts when I said that was a WINNING trade.

I am very tempted. You got rid of him before his price drop so that looks like a good move now. I am torn on what to do really. if i trade him out I bet he will hit a rich vein of form.

He most likely will. If you've held on to him for this long, stick fat he's a classy ball magnet! Like I said in my previous (tl;dr) post, I only traded him out because I needed him to be a top 3-4 player this year because he was my M3. Basically needed him to do what Stanton has done so far. Indecently they both had the same starting price DOH! Doesn't mean Gibbs won't average 105+ and make a more than handy M5-6 for those who keep him.

Trading Magner to Horsley.

Then upgrading Shiel to s.Selwood..or any other premium with the rnd 11 bye as i have two premiums for each of the other two bye rounds.

Any other options for the rnd 11 bye premiums...seems its pretty much only boyd who will drop $$ who i could potentially bring in as M6 later on. Thus giving me 6 premium mids with two having a bye in each bye round.

Kennedy to Dangerfield. I know I am late to get on, but at 408ish with a Rd 11 bye as a forward and displaying the ability to knock out consistent 90+ scores I think he is worth is over say a SJ.

My rough maths was SJ costs 80k more, will average 10ppg more for the rest of the year but I would cop a donut worth 100 and I think SJ will get rested at least one week and my cover will score 50 ish.

So 16 games left.

SJ: 100 x 14 (one out due rest, one donut in Rd 12) 1400 and -80k
Dangerfield: 90x16 1440 and +80k

Too simple a thought process?

i've done the standard magner to horsely and kennedy to adams but I'm not sure if i should just do the horsely trade and then upgrade golby to deledio...

i'll be doing that trade next week regardless though so maybe grabbing the cash this week is the way to go

So went an interesting one with Cunnigham sideways to Adams by shifting Sidebottom into the midfield. Dunno why I thought Cunningham would be worth it.

This now leaves me with Goodes and Ablett on my mid bench injured (shifted Sidebottom back forward for Goodes) and about $120k in the bank. Figured I'd make the sacrifice to get Cunningham out.

Will start to trade out some GWS players and Goodes in coming weeks, or may hang onto Goodes and hope he comes back in as good form as he was. Depends largely on if Ablett is back this week.

I Have decided to Cash in Goodes by trading him for Adams, 6 weeks plus another 2-3 before he starts to get to normal scoring 9 weeeks.

Rather Take the cash now & make money on Adams and Upgrade to 2 premiums next 3-4 weeks with the winnings

Also did the same with Ablett & Fyfe , Cash in now make as much $$$ then upgrade before round 11

Just pointing out that you've included Stevie J's bye but not Dangerfields. Going by that is should be SJ 100 x 15.

Why wouldnt you just go Goodes this week to either Adams or Horsley and upgrade Kennedy or Magner next week

Agree that Magner will rise next week as he has a BE of 20.

Kennedy however has a BE of 53 which is just below his average of 65 so not over confident there.

Goodes is in my forwards and I don't have the DPP link to move him to the mids and change him to Horsely.

While I agree that both Magner and Kennedy could make an extra 20-30K after this round, the amount that Horsely and Adams could make is 150K+ next week alone, hence my reason.

I am really torn as to what to do:

Current line up is:
Mids - Pendles, Boyd, Jelwood, Robinson, McDonald, Shiel (Magner, Cogs)
Forwards - Franklin, Sidebum, Lewis, Martin, Goodes, Roughead, Waite (Christensen, Hall)

Want to downgrade Goodes, but can only really do that to a forward rook/cheapie (don't want Christensen's $$$ sitting on the bench, and other than moving Robinson into the forwards, don't have the DPP link to trade Goodes for Horse).

My dilemma is whether to do 2 downgrades (Goodes/Magner to Adams/Horse), or downgrade Goodes to Adams and using the $$$ to upgrade Magner to Murphy. If I take option 2, line up will be:

Mids - Pendles, Boyd, Jelwood, Murphy, Robinson, McDonald, (Shiel, Cogs)
Forwards - Franklin, Sidebum, Lewis, Martin, Roughead, Waite, Christensen, (Adams, Hall)


Will mean only one more upgrade in the mids and both lines will then be set. If I do go the double downgrade, then will need 4 more trades to finish off (am stacking my team with R13 byes).

But then I miss out on Horsely............

Tough decisions - no doubt will change my mind 100 times before Friday lockout

I would go Goodes to Adams & Magner to Horsley also gives you extra cover on the bench and Kennedy should get 53 easily i would think.

I believe he had a tagging role last week and thats the reason for the low score

Closing in on the top thousand and playing a top 100 team in my league this week. Pendlebury would be a nice addition whom is relatively still cheap. Worried about about my bench but not sure if Adams JS justifies a sideways trade, However the dual position could be handy

Is he generally reliable or have I missed the boat on this one?

I fear you may have missed the boat on this one. I'm not sure, he's had some good scores lately and has surprised me tbh, I'm lucky to have started with him but if I hadn't I wouldn't be bringing him in now. You might be better off asking a Doggies supporter and get their view on his role.

Disagree you have totally missed the boat. Providing you are trading him in as a keeper. An average of 89 for 335k is very good as a back man even if he only averages 85 from this point on.

Obviously you are 100k worse off than people that got him at the start but there is no reason that if someone still presents good value you shouldn't get them.

Imagine if Enright didn't play well last weekend and had dropped to 350k. Everyone would have been like how amazingly cheap is Enright and it would have been an accepted move to trade in a guy 15k more expensive then Hargrave and averaging 20 points less.


In short if you think Hargrave still represents value and you are trading him in as a B7 keeper then nothing wrong with getting on late.

So I've got 340k after trading in Horsley this week, I now need to get rid of McEvoy. I'm tossing up between Roughead (so I don't have two round 11 rucks) and Cox. I'd always go Cox but with my already planned trades for next week, I think that extra 30,000 to get Cox might leave me just short of the trades I want.
So my question, is it worth to get Cox knowing that I may not be able to get my trades next week?

Makes sense as I plan on keeping Hargrave as a permanent D8. I thought he was injury prone so went for the Morris / Ellis combo who have now both nearly peaked. Just looking for a cheap option for the backline so I can spend the money on the mids. I guess you get what you pay for, in most cases.
