5 - Andrew Embley - No doubt in my mind. He was clearly BOG. He was impressive early in the midfield, gathering plenty of the ball and then when we needed a tall marking forward to kick goals, he answered the call with 4 match winning goals. He ended up with 25 disposals (equal with Cuz) 9 marks and 4 goals!

4 - Ben Cousins - IMO the only other 4 quarter performer outside of Embley. Looks to have finally shaken those injuries and is approaching his best.

3 - David Wirrpunda - was instrumental in defence. Whether it was dropping back into the hole to get a vital spoil or it was 75 meter torps from the goal square. He was a difference maker.

2 - Michael Gardiner - dropped a little in the votes because he simply wore himself out leaving him with no impact for most of the 3rd quarter. But he is a champion and he sucked it up and brought us back with some brilliant ruck work in the final 10 minutes. He really is the best ruckmen in the league.

1 - Chris Judd - could have gone to a host of players but I thought Judd was dynamic in the first quarter kicking 2 goals in our blitzing start. Then he again lifted in the last 10 minutes and kicked a vital goal to get us home. He was there when the game needed to be won.

Apologies to ...

Braun - I thought he was great all day, made a contest got down and dirty and I was so happy when he kicked that last goal, sort of a reward for all his hard work that day.

Jones - turning it up a notch this year. Marked strongly across half forward, kicked a goal and got plenty of the ball.

Kerr - good comeback game, had 20 disposals but they werent overly damaging. With match fitness he will be back to his damaging best next week.

Sampi - electric on the half forward line, set up a goal in the first and kicked 2 himself aswell as getting plenty of it (17 disposals)
