Got 2 weeks. Pretty angry about it and has apparently lodged an appeal with the VCFL....at $5000 a case. That's 3rd or 4th hand info, so it probably needs to be validated! That's all I've got Garion, not sure about the other 2 cases.

Its $2750 to appeal. In other words just take what comes from what is at best a Kangaroo Court.

The money is held as a surety, rather than an outright charge.
It is to ensure that there are no trivial appeals that may obfuscate the reporting process. If there is found to be reasonable grounds for the appeal, even if dismissed, then the money is returned, albeit the VCFL can extract any costs incurred (ie. for the investigator, legal counsel, etc.) if it so deems.
I am "fairly" sure that the costs are fully refunded if the appeal is upheld.

Finger: you are a bit loose with the definition of the tribunal as a Kangaroo Court. It may not always return the decision you personally want (I've been on the end of that one myself!!), but it is far from unjust and predetermining the guilt of a defendant.
Your comment is unfair and just plain ignorant, imo.

$1250 is kept no matter the result of the appeal. My choice of phrase remains even after your post.

What a suprise the player that clouted Fev was let off. Apparently the umpire messed up the report. I repeat Kangaroo Court.

Believe Monbulk have had an investigation launched. He was reported for hitting another player on the day and got off that I believe. There's independent and photographic footage of the fev incident so I wouldn't think he could possibly get off

The UMPIRE stuffed up, not the 'court'.
What are they supposed to do? Make up evidence to suit your prejudice? Even so, that was for another incident, wasn't it?

The Tribunal can only go on evidence presented. The Valley Vision replay shows it fairly clearly, too. The better the evidence backing the report, the more likely it will be carried. Hopefully the 'footage' will make it clear and justice will be seen to be done.

Leave it to the Independent Tribunal instead of conducting a mock trial-by-innuendo on an anonymous public forum, finger!
You've already tried to smear one victim when you didn't get all the facts!

Interesting set of results regardless of fev playing. Looking at the video, it did not seem to upset the balance, nor make it all about him. It looks like monbulk came ready to play!

Belgrave up and about with some close wins. Momentum with them. Also mount Evelyn on the march, good to see.
Yep. looked like moanbulk were all fired up. Waters can play and carved the hawks backline but monnie's mosquitos did the damage and the hawks really wanted to win.
mounters are crusin' atm. surprising themselves a bit, but have the numbers on the board. not a bad run coming up either. could even finish 7-2 at the half way mark.
brookers hit the wall and its not even finals yet! upwey and green boys will both hit back. someone has to be premiers to the brookers runners up.
The rest are all over the place. any side can have a day out or a shocker, but some will have more shockers than others.
worry are gaaawwwn. oops. I said that last year.
monbulk belting up-themselves-wey and the burras burying the brookers should attract a review from asada, along with the melboring demons. (got it on good authority essendon bombers are clean! hirdy told me and hes such a nice boy!).
On the subject, emerald and wandin also had big injections - of players. but after crappy starts, were they all dirty hits?
ofcfcfcfc might swap with healsevil next season. pity. I like the ville in divvy 2.

Dunno what that would achieve, they'd still play each other twice and Upwey would be missing out as next year is their turn to host.

Anyway, lets get talking about what this thread is named. For me, it appears that a few teams through up some surprising results (based on form). Olinda were winless roll Mt Ev, Emerald who had lost the previous two rounds by 200+ points accumulative, do a number over their rival Gembrook, and (based on form) Woori beating Warby. Without being there, gonna suggest it was a wind effected game? With Warby only scoring 2 points for the entire game at one end? I see Jugga played, obviously got off at the appeals board.

Divvy 2, there seems to be a huge gap, as their usually is. Yarra Junction on paper looked luck to win, having 8 less scoring shots!!

Yup. this season is shite already for tipping. doing better with eastern 'we're so effing good' footy league tipping.
mounters mystify me, but ofcfcfcfc arent a pack of fc's. they just hung in there and deserved it. outplayed in the 2nd half cos they wanted it more.
I thought wanderin had 2 get better after r1 but was moanbulk still just rapt up in there anzac day boilover? maybe the doggies are thinking its there year.
brookers blown up and bombed by the bogans. that;ll help relations on that side of the hill. :p
burras bubble burst and the worry finally pulled it out to bag one.
upemselveswey bounced back, but are they good enough. *insert another wank quote from bible or shakespear here*
belgrave won't really bother to many good sides, but will stay up.

Upwey favorites for the flag along with wandin.
Woori?? Gembrook have issues and can be beaten
shows the tightness this year, can't expect an easy game
Olinda is the wildcard 8 goal premiership quarter against mounters
Very damaging unit when there accurate, couldv been 4 zip
Monbulk injury list growing dont know what there 2s can bring to the table
Belgrave yet to show there strongest hand could sneak up on a few

FINAL STANDINGS
Gembrook
Wandin
Upwey
woori
Mount ev
Olinda
Belgrave
Warburton
Emerald
Monbulk think depth is going to be a big player and ultimately find themselves in div 2

Good post. I disagree about Monbulk though. Saw them on Anzac Day and they looked a top 3 side to me. Also impressed by Emerald and Warby so far:
1. Upwey
2. Wandin
3. Monbulk
4. Belgrave
5. Warby
6. Emerald

Relegation: no idea

Div 2
1. H - playing first division football

2. S
3. P
4. YJ
5. YG

Don't let the end result fool people on Saturday. Upwey had control until they took there foot off the pedal. Up by ten goals at one stage.

Healsville pulled there finger out to late last year
They were actually playing good footy in the end
they will have a short stay I'm div2

Fowkes 3rd big bag guess he had the better of wragg
Dogs must have dug up more then a bone over the break
New recruit$ playing good footy

Our competition is closer than ever before, every single team is capable of beating anyone on any given day. This has been the case for the past 3-4 years, prior to that though there was always 1 maybe 2 teams you could nearly pencil in. Games are purely being won by teams who take their scoring opportunities when they have the momentum. One thing is for certain, both teams are going to have periods of domination each game and it's simply a case of hitting the scoreboard when that happens. Someone mentioned earlier we (OFC) could easily be 4 and zip ? That's definitely true - a 2.10 2nd term v Monbulk (lost by 2 goals) and a 2.9 last term v Belgrave (lost by 5pts) possibly cost us 2 wins. If you're not hitting the scoreboard when you're "up and about" then you only have yourself to blame. That's a part of football, we have to get better at it. In the 3rd Qtr on the weekend, we had periods of absolute dominance and kicked 8-9 goals, there-in tells the story of why we ultimately won !

With the competition being so even, especially 1st division, how much can be contributed to the player points system? To me it's a no brainer and one of the better things the league has done.

In saying that does it really have any effect? Wandin have 15 new senior players in a game this year to the one that got knocked out by Woori in last seasons final. This is not having a go at Wandin by the way just pointing out the points system is very very leniant. Fair to say the clubs that are spending the most are sitting 1-2-3 on the ladder.

Don't tell finger!

All games have a bit of intrigue which makes for a good comp

The eight pointers this week look like
Warby v mounters
Monbulk v brookers
Important game for Belgrave to stamp themselves also
My tips
Wandin
Woori
Warby at home
Brookers
Upwey

Max of 10 new players bud. All rated at 2 points, which is where the issue may lie, but I'd be interested to see your solution to it.

Remaining new players either juniors or reserves. I'd also suggest not many clubs were banging on Sam hills door, who is playing some great footy.

Swings and roundabouts - 3 years ago the WFC focused on the seniors and juniors. It's paying dividends compared to where they were. Will it last forever? Not many examples of that happening at any club.
