Gianni Infantino elected as FIFA President overnight, a Swiss-Italian, the guy who opens the Champions League draw balls, a good choice, but was Platini's right-hand man.

Thankfully, he narrowly defeated Sheikh Salman from Bahrain, who told the Swiss and US authorities to stop their 'PR stunt' against FIFA...oh! and was allegedly involved in identifying footballers in the 2011 Bahrain Uprising and jailing them, some of whom are alleged to have been subject to numerous human rights abuses including torture. A front runner to lead world football was accused of torturing footballers...

At least there is a much cheaper air service(Ryanair) to get fans from one end of Europe to another. Not one that completely rips off fans who want to travel to see their team play. Most flights on Ryanair are 10-20 pounds one way. As a low-cost airline they are going to add on costs but when you're travelling for one day only you should be able to get away without baggage etc. Even some of the more expensive places you can get to for no more than the cost of a flight to Victoria.

Last time Adelaide United won the premiers plate, Port Adelaide won the flag the year before. You see where I'm going with this?

Great result, the Reds are playing the best football I've ever seen them play in my time watching them in this comp.

We've got all the momentum going into the business end, it would be a massive fairytale story if they come away with some silverware after that terrible start to the season.

That Stefan Mauk has some serious talent, the lads a jet.

Considering 100 days ago, the reds were smack bang, bottom of the ladder and talks of Amor being the right man for the job.

Still lots of work to do though.

The goalscoring is being shared around with 37 goals scored and the top scorers Pablo Sanchez and Stefan Mauk with 6 each, followed by Bruce Djite and Marcello Carrusca with 5 each.

Some of Mauk's goals have been for Melbourne City though.

Whilst not as prolific at City's top 3 scorers there seems to be a bigger spread of goal scorers in the Adelaide United side.

Of City's 54 goals I think nearly 40 have been scored by Fornarolli, Mooy and Novillo.

Looks like the Matilda's are off to Rio.

They have just scored in the 83rd minute v North Korea to go 2-1 up. They only need a draw in this game or their next and last game to as Peter Allan said - Go to Rio. Now into the 86th minute can't see North Korea scoring twice. They did score in the 71st though.

For the Matilda's after they won 2-1. Still play China but it doesn't matter if they dont win, but after 4 wins from 4 they will go for the 5th. Japan who won the WC in 2011 and lost the final to USA last year, has failed to qualify.

Another big test for our players tonight against City. Provided Isaias plays, we'll pretty much be at full strength besides Elrich.

If we play our best again tonight, then it should be another 3 points to the tally.

Need a better performance in the second half in order to get 3 points.

With WSW and Brisbane 1 point behind and a game in hand, Newcastle and Victory respectively, I doubt that we will be top after this week. Certainly don't want the Victory to win or they could be within 1 game of top.
Adelaide finish off with 3 away out of 4 with WSW at Pirtek, CCM at Coopers, Sydney FC at Allianz and Melbourne City at AAMI PK.
