Then We have got the midfield. My Biggest concern is the Lack of Hardened and Experiened midfielders in our Squad. We have only got 3 midfielders with played over 100 games under thie belts: Mundy, McPhee and Crowley. You can add Ibbotson if he plays 21 more games to reach the 100 game milestone. In 2010 we had a more experienced midfield because we had Hasleby and Headland.

We have a talented but young midfield. With the exception of Mundy, McPhee and Crowley we got an bunch of mids with 30-50 games under thier belt. Im curious how much we can improve with guys like Barlow, Morabito, Mzungu injury free and Play all 22 games this season.

Hill has been good on the wing so we need another runner to run well on the other wing.

Lets not forget Nick Lower bolted out of our rookie list and played some good football by playing 19 games for us Last Season. Im Hoping Lee Spurr can do the same thing this season.

I expect us to be competitive against most of the teams. Im concerned how our Young kids will go against the Hardened bodies Against the Hawks, Cats, Magpies and Saints.

Well two rounds into the heaviest part of our draw IMO ,we're 1-1.
I thought we could jag one at least.I'll be pretty stoked if we can be 3-2 after five rounds.

We should beat Brissy next week given they have no S.black. St Kilda are an unknown and Carlton are looking better and better (even though i still think they are overrated). So 3-2 would be an great effort after 5 rounds. However some of the easy beats of last year eg Port, are playing far better. Melb are looking horrible and i would be horrified if we lose to them again.

Yes 3-2 was always the best I thought we could hope for, always had us losing to Sydney. Mind you I thought we'd beat Carlton and lose to Geelong, will be the other way round now. Looking at how Jetta kicked that last qtr goal yesterday, Carlton's little men will tear our defence to shreds

well were 1-1.

Id still be happy if were 2-3 after 5 rounds. We should beat the lions at Home. We might beat carlton at home as well. I dont expect us to beat Saints at etihad.

If were 2-3 by round 5, we have to win 10 of 17 games to grab a finals spot.

We can go in a small winning streak after rounds 6 and 7 beating the suns at gold coast and port at subi.

Most of the last 17 games are winnable. All the remaining games at subi after Carlton are winnable at least...

One game at a time...

I really think the Saints is a crunch game for us - 1st trip to Melb in 2012, good chance to be 3-2 at end of round 5 (assuming Carlton gives us a bath) and launch into a slightly easier part of the draw. I think we can do it

Next 2 games are massive, stage is set on a Friday night too.
If we win one of the next 2 games i'll be happy.

I'd have been satisfied with 2-3 at the start of the season. No real expectation to win against the Saints or Carlton, just hoping for two competitive performances.

Four played and we're 3-1,definitely exceeding my expectations prior to the start of the season.

Can we be 4-1 after next Friday night?
I doubt it,but if we are, I'll be so ****ing pumped.

Carlton at home is definitely a game that we need to win in order to be considered top 4 contenders. I think we will go in slight outsiders but think we have the game to knock them off

Probably have gone from slight underdogs to slight favorites after Carlton's effort today.

I'd say the money will be slightly more towards us, but in reality Carlton should be minor favourites. I'm still not convinced we can play the four quarters of good, consistent footy necessary to beat the better sides. Yes they were utter trash today, but they'll want to make a big statement against us.

Every contender wants to make a statement. Will be disappointed if we don't win, and am very interested to see the tactics against the Bloooose small forwards. A real weak area for us defensively. Need some rat-cunning from Lyon.

Carrazzo out is massive for us. If he was going to bring his game that shut Pendlebury out we would have been a man down in the middle, and I don't think Barlow or Mundy have the fitness yet to burn him off later in the game.

The Carlton midfield looked a lot less accountable with him out of the side.

4-1 would be massive
Hopefully Ratten's wife has the baby early. Ross would carve the inexperience.

Quietly confident.

Looking forward to Crowley on Judd. Reckon Mayne might get the job on Gibbs after his Friday night effort as well. Yarran may not be 100% and we have an extra day rest. Looked a tough game and there will be a few sore blues players on that plane. Looking forward to a big Friday night against the self proclaimed "premiership favorites " gee wouldn't want to be Ratten if he loses a few more!

To sum it up for the 1st 5 rounds not bad not bad at all for the 1st 5 games.

I knew that we were easily going to beat the lions and win 2 more to make it 3-2. I expected to get wins vs the swans and carlton and lose to the saints and cats, it turned out the opposite happened.

Time to start a thread for our matches for rounds 6-11.
