Royal - Big say in Future As Terry Wallace has given Brian Royal the big job of improving the players skills I believe he will have a big influence on the future of our club - what do you think ? Has anyone seen in him action ? Terry Wallace thinks he the best in the business - I hope he's right as turning the ball over is still our biggest problem and is something Danny and his team couldn't seem to improve.

atm i think the new draftees: tambling and deledio have better skills in our side than most others. but im sure we will see better skills next year.... is there anything that our side couldnt improve on from last year?

Well anything is an improvement from Frawley's regime, and the fact that he was with the Bulldogs doing pretty much what he is doing now must hold him in high regard.

Add to the fact his got around 5-7 years more experience than he had back then, i reckon he'll do good.

Reports from our training sessions about him have been glowing aswell.

the skills of the youngesters are probaly the only really good thing to come out of the TAC cup.As for royal there is huge wraps on his methods and people skills in improving players. Many have touted him as a very good senior coach but seems to have missed this boat a bit so should be a real asset for the club

royal is a proven skills and communications man, he had brilliant skill himself and his gift as a teacher has been aknolwedged by wally who turned heaven and earth to get him to punt rd, he will improve our skills in disposal one hopes, as this has been a major part of our downfall over the years, players like hilton need it

Greg Hutchison was well regarded too, but I think Brian's record at Dogs was top notch. Dees too. Would say he will have players running in a straight line and ATTACKING the ball at all costs. If TW can incorporate a decent game plan we at least have to be better.

All you need to remember and look at is the fact When Brian and Terry started at the western bulldogs they were down and out down the bottom every year. And if i remember there first year they played off in the finals. During training like we are today not many clubs would have the footballs out during the pre-season however That year thats all the Western Bulldogs did footballs out and working on there skills which they had none off. Brian is the best in the business i have no doubt about that and i am looking forward to seeing a team with more skill and most of all a game plan

Was watching Fox Footy on new years day ( nursing the worst hanghover in living memory ) and they had on the Vic v`s WA state of origin match in 86 when Royal and the Flea both kicked 5 a piece .

It was poetry in motion watching those two do thier thing .

For mine , there is a certain romance about seeing the two best rovers of thier time working together at punt rd.

Andy Krakouer and Rodan will lack nothing in the areas of tutilidge

I`m only assuming he has the same or similar role as he has had previously , would be interested to know for sure . Other than his duties as runner i think he acts as a bit of a mentor to the younger blokes . TW has already said he wants to build and expand a mentoring programme to get more former players back into the fold . i`m assuming Flea is a big part of that .
