ROYAL RUMBLE V: Discussion Thread

Hear ye, hear ye!

We are nearing closer to New Years, which means it's time for another Royal Rumble event - ROYAL RUMBLE V (the caps are meant to add emphasis because five is a nice, round number).

Following in the tradition of past winners, I will be assuming the responsibility of running this one (my dream job) despite how ill-equipped I am. But nobody else has stepped in so I'm running with it anyway no matter the fact that I have no idea how to run this but I think I'll learn as I go.

This thread is simply to garner interest and accept entrants. If you're new to the Sweet FA, or new to the Rumble, here are links to the last four: I, II, III, IV and the Wiki

No start date is set in stone at the moment, but I am aiming for Jan 2. So sorry to all of those with actual holiday plans (I actually don't feel sorry for you at all if you have a life).

No minimum number of participants is set either but I'd like to get at least twenty, hopefully less than fifty. I guess there'll be mystery entrants too. So PM if you want to keep your entrance a secret.




RULES (subject to change once the schedule and # of participants becomes more clear, feel free to discuss them here though, otherwise we're playing it my way)

1. Start time and date sent via PM, there may well be a warning of the start time prior.

2. Entrants will be put into a hat and their individual start times will be posted. There will be predetermined hourly gaps between each entrant (closed between a time determinant by my sleeping schedule, but admittedly preferably during AEDT daylight hours). All times will be AEDT.

3. Entrants have to post at least once in a predetermined time frame or they will be eliminated. Either the judges will see this, or however, you may earn yourself an elimination if you first point it out to the judges after X hours has expired that another player has failed to post. First in, best-dressed. (I love this rule).

4. Posting before your designated start time will see you be red carded immediately. You must post in the X hour window starting from your designated entrance time.

5. If you are eliminated your name will appear followed by a picture of a red card. You will not be able to post again and if you do, you will feel the wrath of the SFA admin, or his steward, or whoever is around with MOD powers (NOTE: The Filth Wizard - can I have mod powers for this game?). There will be a side-thread for discussion. Take it there. Don't be a dick.

6. Only the judge and entered posters will be allowed to post once it officially gets under way.

7. You must be affiliated with a team in the SFA or, have recently departed one to be eligible to compete.

8. Above all else, personal attacks and unacceptable comments towards each other will see yourself being the person carded.

9. The judges decision will be final.

Unfortunately I don't like anyone around here that much to rig it in their favour. But I wouldn't be too shocked if somehow Wise Guy Sam is eliminated early regardless of whether he enters the ring. In fact, the call is in, and he's already been eliminated. Sorry WGS but not really.

Looking over the past rumbles, they run shorter than I remembered. So sure, consider Jan 7 the new de facto start date.
