Needs a break from the masses on this board calling for his head...if I ran the list he'd be back...I sincerely hope he is.

if every big man in footy history was cut after struggling for a few seasons ..well i'll leave THAT list to Ghost, Deano and Tiger Of Old who have better memories of the 50's than I do ;) ...I know Brendan Gale would have only played 22 games ...Kevin walsh from essendon wouldn't have made it...justin madden would have have played his entire life in the VFA...Roger Merrett is another...

Let's let Royce do the apprenticeship he deserves...give the kid a go.

Why Rodan?.... think his played a total of 30 games in 3 seasons and has done little to to justify his position on our list anymore. If we could trade him i'd be more than happy to see him go.
I cant think of match where i thought.... yeah this guys got something and would be worth persisting with . I know that he dosnt get many chances to play in a season but then when he does i know why he is dropped again .If ben holland had a injury free year i doubt vardy would have got more than 2 or 3 matches at most

He isn't the greatest player that will ever play but I reckon he is possibly handy to have as a back up tall defender, in case of injuries like this year to Holland although he still didn't get a lot of games. However having said that he did get killed by Thompson in the early part of the game late in the season against the Hawks.

There's others to go before Royce ...

I'd ditch Dragacevic before I gave Vardy any marching orders.

Why? I know two knee recos is a worry but a lot of players have had a rash of major injuries and then had a bit of luck and played good footy.

Well I'd expect him too get killed by Thommo...as i'd expect Voss to beat Rodan...Vardy gives away god knows how much height and experience to the hawk Ruckman...

vardys body design says he should get the third tall fwd...not the ruckman...he was getting jobs that he wouldn't have to do in a footy unit with more(and less injury prone ) talls.

Didn't Chaff end up on Burton earlier this season ?

I agree it would be hard to de-list/trade Dragga after two recos. I was thought he had a bit of talent and could hold a place in the midfield which he probably would have had by now bar the two knee reconstructions.

If my memory serves me correctly i reckon he had a lot of injuries as a junior and as a result wasn't picked up as earlier as what he might have been. I could be wrong on this though.

Vardy's okay. I can only ad to the consensus that there are others on the list who deserve an arse-kicking before Royce. Certainly, if an exceptional trade offer was made then it would be well worth looking into, but otherwise he is worth at least another season.

Could someone tel me a bit about Scott Homewood. Living in South Australia i haven't seen him play. He's had a few injuries problems hasn't he? Is he capable of possibly being able to fill a key defensive post in the future?

Our back-up talls are useless. Homewood has to go. He hasn't even made an impression on the VFL. Vardy has had more than enough time to prove himself but has failed to do so. Both should be delisted immediately. It might cost us in the short term - ie. regular talls get injured and we have to replace them with youngsters... but Gawd these blokes can't play AFL footy!

The sooner we stop looking at stop-gap talls and look to the future the better. I take the point re. Gale (he was hopeless for 3 years), but I'm convinced that Vardy and Homewood don't have it. Maaaaaybe keep Vardy for one more year as insurance, but methinks next year he'll be starring in the country leagues.

one or the other will go.
vardy has had his chance and after nearly losing our sponsership deal with the tac id say the way he was playing for coburg he knows whats coming.
homewood while he has been dissapointing id give him one more year and if he gets a chance in the bigtime then we all will not die wondering.

maybe keep homewood and select dean talbot as backup and recruit a young tall defender maybe the way to go.

cheers!
