Sorry Rip, but IMHO Sandilands has to go. I know it's unfair to single out one player after today's dismal effort, but he is a log. Longmuir can not be expected to do it all by himself - play #1 ruck + loose man in defence + drift forward. The only thing Sandi can do is ruck a bit - even that is not convincing, he's useless as a forward target and no good in the backline where he can't mark the ball and can't chase.
Send him back to E.Freo for at least a month - give Michael Warren a go as the back-up ruckman to J-Lo's #1. He would do no worse than Sandi as an extra tall in the forward line and he can also play as a defender. The decision has to be made on him at the end of the year - elevate from rookie list or de-list altogether. While he is currently on the senior list, give him a go at the highest level; have something to work with when making a decision.
Also reckon they need to give Johnson another week, as well as Murphy, and bring in Mundy for Polly across half back. These youngsters can only take the next step by being played at the highest level; and they can't do any worse than some of our "proven" performers like Sandilands, Woods, Grover.

Rant over.

Send Sandilands to Carlton for a couple of years to learn how to play the game, then bring him back when we finally get rid of cuddly. (at the end of 2007)

I would be very surprised if Sandilands played this week. I'm still confident he will make it as a footballer but he's currently a long way off the mark and becoming a liability.

I think Warren will be promoted to the main list at seasons end regardless of whether or not he gets a game this season. CC has said before that Hadrill at 188cm is a makeshift fullback and will move out to a flank when we have a better option. We currently struggle against the gorillas (Roccas, Richo and resting ruckmen). Warren may be that player. At 195cm he has the height and may be ready to develop into that role when he gets closer to the 100kg mark (currently about 92kg). He did a vey good job keeping Brad Smith to 1 goal in the first half of the WAFL grand final last year, before being moved into the ruck and forwardline and Smith ended up kicking a bag. Would be nice to see him get a run sooner rather than later though.
