Is McKee really a good ruckman, around the ground he is superb but his ruckwork imo is appauling.

what do to?

IMO Anthony Rocca is the best ruckman we've got. At least I think he has more effect on the game when he's in the ruck compared to McKee and Josh

Not IMO. Fraser is crap in the ruck but would be better arouind the ground and Rocca is signifiacntly better than McKee in the ruck. Problem is Rocca is needed up forward and doesn't have the aerobic make up to ruck all day. McKee is ok around the ground but by the standards of the top AFL ruckman he is average at best. The upshot is McKee aint the best but he is needed at present.

The real issue is why are we in this predicament? We are a ruckman short of a premiership AGAIN!

What happened to Guy Richards, he didn't even get a game in the Fizzer Cup.
And I have heard Justin Crowe is reasonably good, although he is still probably some years away from seniors footy.

If Richards has any ability he should be played this week and given a few weeks to settle. If it doesn't work then we should try Crow. If that doesn't work we should offload both of then at the end of the year and bloody well get a ruckman.

Malthouse has coached sides to premierships without a dominant ruckman with WCE.
1992 - Harding & 1994- Hynes were key position players forced to play ruck.

McKee is a very good follower. Agreed he is not a ruckman, but his use of the ball is generally very good and he plays his role in the team very well.

We didn't lose the grand final last year due to McKee. It was our lack of goals from the small fwds ie. L & N Davis & Didak.

Richards is lacking slightly in body size due to his kidney ailment at end of 2001 which he lost 7 kgs. So therefore, he was back to being the size of a 1st yr draftee in 2002. He has since put on 10-14 kgs. Does have a future, but it takes time.
