I'll tell you how I felt, arriving at Kingsford Smith in Sydney, turning my phone on and getting a message telling me Craig had been appointed for three years - felt like throwing my phone against the terminal wall and stomping on it.

How the hell could a coach as good as Eade be let go and bloody Craig be hired? That article by Rucci was a pile of self-justifying crap. He was on the attack, yet with no facts to back himself up, yet again.

All I'll say is how can a person who leads a team to its WORST EVER defeat inside his first few games, be allowed to coach a team for three years? Tha should be the clincher. Sure, he claimed he didn't want to shut down the game (though I would want to if it was blowing out that badly), yet the very next week he responds with the most negative, nasty, shut-down football imaginable...WHAT?!

All I can say is we should expect three years of mediocrity...performances like Richmond and Hawthorn in the 1990s will be our benchmark level I'd imagine. Craig has little flair or ideas in his coaching for my mind. Like Ayres, he is barely even REactive, let alone PROactive on matchday - something we had a chance to change by hiring Eade.

Oh well.

I'm trying to remain positive...But, sadly, I must agree.

Hopefully, our players can overcome the ineptitude of our coaching staff.

By the way, if Craig bombs out in his first 2 years. I doubt whether he'll see out his 3-year contract.

And there is no point in that, we will be like the Bulldogs were a couple of weeks ago and sacking a coach after two seasons, and we have wasted two years and have gained nothing from it, it's going to be such a waste. When I heard the news on the radio I nearly drove the car off the road, I was very ********ed off

The Colonial can go on about how they had a proper process ... but was the point when they had already decided on the winning applicant prior to starting the process. It doesn't matter how he talks up the process, because at the end of the day it was a sham.

I agree Spinny, I wasn't feeling too great when I heard news of the appointment & the vast majority I have spoken to feel the same way.

This leads to what 1 supporter speaking to Mark Aiston on 5AA today tried to get across & Mark just didn't get- us member want a representation on the board by a real supporter voted in by the members, rather than a SANFL "yes man" appointee as the "members rep".

What are Eade's flaws?
What are Craig's strengths?

The answer to that might tell you why Craig got the nod.

Like me, you may not agree with the result but I don't believe this was appointment was decided the day they sacked Ayres.
