Rumour is that Richmond have offered Dean Solomon of Essendon $1.6 million over 4 years ($400g a year)... Could be a tad much though :rolleyes:

Id love to see Solomon at the club so Im not complaining :D
 
400k is probably too much and a 4 year contract is too long for someone who has had a knee reconstruction previously. If it was 400k the first year and then decreasing the following then it wouldn't be as bad. Though listening to the way the Essendon fans on here talk about him perhaps it isn't too much. Offering him a large contract is probably the only way he would leave Essendon.

The rumour of Solomon to Punt Road seems to be growing legs all the time though.
 
Please say it ain't so!! :mad: I could live with $400k for Rawlings but Solomon no way!! If we **** up again with a deal like this then I'm going to find it hard to justify digging into the hip pocket and forking out for a membership. This is so depressing.

This trade is rubbish, especially at those costs, someone has invented this amount out of thin air. Would really like to see soloman at the tiges next year but will belive the trade when i see it. Don't think sheedy would want him to leave really. And we don't want him at that price, it's absurd.
 
If we are offering Solomon as much as being reported I dobut any club would want to match that so I reckon we could pick him up in the pre-season draft for nothing.

So how is it possible just to buy players? Im a little unsure how it works.

I don't know if I'm right on this but I thought players that nominate for the pre-season draft can put a price tag on themselves e.g Solomon for example says he wants 350K a season. If the Bulldogs couldn't afford to pay him that much they would have to pass on selecting him and if he was still available when its our selection we could pick him up if we could afford his salary.

I think this is how we got Gaspar from the Swans in the pre-season draft and we didn't go for Bolton because we didn't think he was worth what he was asking for.
 
I cant see sheeds letting him go for nothing, If solomon goes Sheed will do a trade and get something for him....

I think Bowden for Solomon...

Ray Hall and our second round pick for brown......
