Guys we couldn't possible be giving up Lucas, Bower & pick22 for pick15. That is just ridiculous and Richmond ream us. Get a grip!

Maybe not, but which of those players played for us in the finals and which would have got ahead of Kreuzer, Gibbs and Waite?
Goddard though would be in our starting 22 every day of the week.

Don't get why the Saints would give Goddard for pick 15. Don't add up

Flying around they're got salary cap issues, but reckon they'd get a much higher pick for Goddard than 15.

Then again they picked Lovett

Guess we will find out tomorrow but just received a message saying this...

"Goddard coming to Carlton in a 4 club deal, Blues giving Lucas, Bower, and Mclean and pick 20 to Richmond, they give higher pick back which goes to saints and bower goes thru to GWS as part of the deal. This is a done deal, Hutchy is reporting on it tomorrow. Apparently saints are way over their salary cap and are in real trouble in fact need to offload 2 star players off their books there is even talk about them losing their draft picks. talk is massive sanctions coming saints way."

Probably nothing but this is the thread it deserves to go in.

someone has copied and pasted from TC.

But to add to the "mystery"

All eyes on Saints. Massive salary cap issues. AFL all over it. @craighutchy with ALL the #tradeweek movements, on @TradeWeekRadio from 8am

probably just something to get people listen to these fwits on their "radio" show....

If we do that we are the Carlton of old and will pay a price like we have over the last 10 years. Paying far to much for a player that has a few years left.

Why Laminex?

We're discussing Bower for Roberton, Lucas for Stevens and McLean for nothing, just to free up the $$$

How could we not be in front with a bona fide star in Goddard?

It may well not happen, but I hope that my side has given its all to get us a cup next year rather than a let's wait and see.

And 100s of Carlton BF posters go hard all at once :D.

Lucas is going to be a very good player and hasn't hit 20 yet. He has great run, disposal and is an outsider with run and carry - sound similar to someone where talking about trading here?
So pick 22 & Mclean for an upgrade to pick 15. Well I'll leave alone for now but this really is pick 11(2009) & pick 22(2011). Right?
Bower - well we are throwing for zilch, nothing ... great move!!!!
How is this a good trade for us again????

The way the Brickman has described it makes no sense.

1. We would not give Richmond that much to upgrade seven picks.

2. St Kilda would not accept pick 15 for Goddard.

IF - massive IF - something like this eventuates ... it would be:

Lucas for Pick 15 (from Richmond) ... possibly throw in McLean
Pick 15 + 22 + Bower to St Kilda for Goddard

Not sure about why GWS would be involved.

But all hypothetical, and will certainly disregard the rumour once Hutchy writes it up.

I don't want to lose Lucas I mean who gonna be the replacement for Scotland and simpson if he's gone

For a year or 2, we do not need to sell our soul for a quick fix.

I won't lose my shirt tonight on the back of a little speculation, but to dismiss Goddard as too old doesn't cut it.

He'd come straight into our top 5 players at the club, create a swell of suuport for a membership drive and add weight to the "old" Carlton of capable of getting their man.

Whichever way, at least the club has been active in leaving no stone unturned.
Isn't that what we expect of them?

You guys..

Replacing like for like won't get you too far.
Every year demands the ante to be raised.
Sit back and watch the others pass you by? No thanks from me or from the club in general.

All for getting quality but not 2 quality young players and our 1st pick for a 27-28 year old. That is just plain dumb.

Then we land him right with a fair deal or a deal that suits us. Not letting every team bend us over. We paid to much for Judd. We had hand and what did we do with that hand??

We rubbed one out for landing our man even thou we paid to much.

Everytime I read something negative about goddard I'm taking a shot.

I'm half a bottle down of Jack and still ready ing bullshit can't believe it.

Goddard would smoke it up big time and for thae fact that you think he won't and we are getting reamemd is so stupid.

I'll keep drinking then wake up and trade day will be on. Oh shit its not ap ublic holiday this week might have to work.

Hopefully I pass out soon enough :)

We paid unders for Judd by keeping pick one.

This.

If Saints need to offload Goddard and his contract, then they need to prepare for a trade that mirrors a night with Milne and Montagna. We don't need to help the likes of St Kilda and Pelchen offload a contracted player to stay under the salary cap. The irony of this situation handing us Goddard is too good to be true. I call bullshit.

So if it did come to fruition would you picket the CFC tomorrow and tell them just that?
I don't think so.

I think you'd find the swell of support overwhelming, if Goddard were somehow to fall our way.

just a thought, but im seeing goddard as scotland's replacement and blues will keep lucas as simpson's replacement

I'll accept being somewhere near on the fence with Goddard, but I won't get dragged into that argument, Laminex.

Judd has paid for himself 10 times over, irrespective of how many small stuttering steps Kennedy takes.

That is true, but over paying is over paying. I make deals for a living and i am the best at it. No one gets the deals i get because i can smell the deal i can taste the deal and i always get the deal i want. I could tell we would pay overs for Judd the Mclean deal was a joke from the get go and this deal is a turky.

Get me in that room guys and will fu#k them up and walk away with Goddard for half price.
