On Footy Focus last night they divulged an interesting piece of info.

Apparently a high profile player, who started his carreer in Melbourne and returned home to Adelaide, wants to go back and finish his career at the team he originaly started at in Victoria!

I can think of two players, Jarman or Wanganeen! Jarman is too old Id say to worry about going back, but with all the happenings at Port, with Wangas losing captaincy etc, maybe he wants back at Windy Hill!!

I would love him back! He was a good player who nearly ruined himself going back IMO. Not just because Im an Essendon fan, but I think he would have been a superstar had he stayed, they threw him into a captaincy role over there when he isnt a natural leader! He is a small player, and at Port he was 'the man' and copped a lot of treatment by opposition teams, that led to many injury problems and a lack of sparkeling form.

What about Matty Primus? And if the Bombers do get back Wanganeen then there is no doubt that they are rorting the salary cap. There is no possible way that they can keep all the players they have and hope to fit under the cap.

Very doubtful Matty Primus will be going back to Fitzroy.... and before you say "no I meant Geelong", Primus never played an AFL game for Geelong. Therefore, as written above the rumour is unlikely to refer to Primus.

Wanganeen is a great player, but I would not want him back at Essendon (if this is true).

I think his desicion to leave Essendon and go to Port Adelaide has been overstated by Sheedy. By this, I mean, Essendon was not as badly damaged by GW's departure, as Sheedy says. Essendon's performances in 97 and 98, had nothing to do with GW not being in the team.

Further, how are we going to afford him. We won't be able fit him under the salary cap and will not doubt have to give up some players in an effort to secure him. Why should those players who have decide to stay for less, be further disadvantaged by the acquisition of a player who treated Essendon with contempt at the end of 96.

In my opinion, a dubious investment considering his durability and illdisicpline.

I for one don't want Wangas back at Windy Hill, we would have to pay him too much for his inconsistency, then there's his staging for free kicks, we are already getting stick form everyone about Lloydy staging for frees, Wangas is the leader in this field.

They're both likely to be staying put.

At the end of each season someone should publish a list of all the predictions made and rumours floated by these 'respected journalists' and hold them to account for the Wallies they really are
