I’ve just added to my Tempo collection. Price too good not to.

I have gotten myself 3 pairs of shoes the last month.. I am not sure I can justify the cost but geeze I'm tempted hahaha

5 weeks out from Melbourne, anyone else anticipating being on the start line?
I'm reaching the point where I'm second guessing everything I've done and hoping like hell it's enough

Also first time doing a full so the fear is very real

Yes, but sadly I realised how unprepared I am for the full marathon and downgraded my entry to the 1/2.
I just haven't had the time to put in the work required and am disappointed.
On the plus side though, doing the half means I've been able to convince my son to run with me. This will be the 3rd 1/2 marathon we've done together this year

Hey everybody, I started this thread in 2012 and I check in once and a while. It’s awesome to see it still has life!

Being a solo runner, it’s nice to know that there are so many of us out there hitting the pavement.

I just went for a 10km run from Wapping, along the river Thames in London, through Canary Wharf to the Isle of the Dogs. It was a beautiful foggy morning pounding the cobbled stone streets littered with old warehouse apartments and then later skyscrapers.

Enjoy your run, and stay safe!

So in the last 2 weeks I have fallen foul of my addiction again.

I also have some of those NB ones... the green though. Super bouncy, really like them.. only issue I have is that they rub on my foot in a certain spot that is annoying. But I think i have a bit of a sore spot/bruise there that i just haven't let settle.. so shelving them for a few weeks and post Mara they can come back out again with slightly thicker socks.
They are super bouncy though aren't they

Hope all the BigFooty running fam participating enjoyed the cracking weather and had a great day out at Melbourne today.
Did my first half today, great conditions smashed my target time.

Great pre and post race atmosphere too. Most fun I've had at the MCG in..... a week I suppose. 😁

I did my first full today... 36k went absolutely to plan and then the Tan section absolutely ruined me
Came in at 3:57:31 and considering a week ago I was still finishing a course of antibiotics for a sinus infection I'm pretty happy with sub 4 hours.

Great effort mate, those last few km with the hills and the heat in the sun would have been hard going!

Yeah had a few Saturday then healthy for a week after that!
It was very satisfying running into the G a week after having a great day there the week before..

also for those who had done it before, i was really happy to see they had cut the final lap in half as my legs were at the point of not wanting to work anymore hahaha

Bit better than my day. Was looking great at mid distance for a 4:30 even if it felt like the 4:20 pacers were going a touch harder than anticipated, groins started to stop cooperating with about 8km left and loped in for a 5:00. Still that's 8 in the books, 2 more and the green singlet/yellow bib is a reality. Onwards to Auckland now in a couple of weeks.

I suppose they may have been protecting some of the outfield but it kind of was silly to go from the rubber mats onto the grass about where the Southern End goals were and back onto mats for the finish.

I'm looking at number 2 now and strongly strongly considering Adelaide next year.. Mrs Willo is from there so could take the family and then have them all supporting out on course as well with help from the in laws which would be great..
It seems to be 2 laps of a loop though and I'm not sure if that appeals to me or not.. Would feel a step below Melbourne which is a big grand event.. But a Mara is still a Mara I figure and would be worth it for the holiday and support

Confirm it is a 2 lap course ducking in behind the Adelaide Oval, much of it following the Torrens (pulled out at half way this year with the groins, in hindsight should have just downgraded and done the half).

Hope we are all well and running well, sheesh the ol heat and humidity kicks up the sweat factor doesn't it!
Since we are all also shoe addicts I thought i would point out that black friday sales are starting and any good deals or prices would be appreciated by all if shared here!
