Rumour is that he could be going to Collingwood next year. Wanting a 3 year contract with the Dees, but they only seem to be wanting to give him 2 years.

Hes currently 28.

Would you guys want him at Tigerland? If so, what for?

Hes one of my favourite players outside of Richmond. Would be good to have him but I guess we arent in a zone near winning a premiership. :(

No thanks. Too old and has wonky knees. Stick with the kids. We have a few potential key forwards and bringing robbo in would stifle their development.

Collingwood have a habit of picking up mature smaller forwards. (Medhurst)
Though Robbo converts his goals at a good rate, I'm not sure we need his type of forward.
Elsewhere there is talk of trading Petts but he is close to a younger version of Robbo is he not?
Throw in Browny, now Lids & even Riewoldt and I think we are OK for medium sized forward options.
So no...

I cant see Richmond trading for anything that compromises our youth development TW is working on a plan that will have us competing in the finals regularly from 2011 to do this he needs a quality core group of older players in 2011 and a good group of young players constanly comeing through.

I think we will be a lot more competitive next year but may only win between 6 and 8 games more if the stars aline

At present we have a good list of younger players that will be top quality in 3 years some are already there of course but as a group these players will be quality by then thursfield, deledio, foley, petifer, king, reiwoldt, edwards, mcguane, conners, polak, tambling (hopefully), jackson, may have missed a couple.

With the new young players we bring on in the next 2 to 3 years we will have a very solid list capable of matching it with the best in the league

Seems like a good bloke, and a handly player too. But with similar players in our forward line and some even younger, I don't see it happening.
But then again, we did recruit Kent!!!!

Talented no doubt, but enigmatic and inconsistent.
One of my most liked players from an opposition club, but exacltly the type of player I'd like to steer away from from now at RFC.

yep, if we go that way, we need to pinpoint our most hated players.
They tend to be that for a very good reason. ;)

Handy player, age is the factor and three more years will see him out. Now with the talented kids on our list I have to say no No NO NO !!!

He won't be comming here

- I could actually see this rumour being true (Robbo 2 pies). I have this wierd feeling that Didak will be traded to Brisbane for Charman... Robbo wouldn't be a bad replacement over next few years.

would brissy want didak and his luggage?

Quality player but we don't need him. Have a few younger KP/HFF types coming through that still have 8-10 year careers ahead of them. Would prefer to stick with developing them before we chased a quick fix like Robbo.

If Robbo was completely fit and healthy, Melbourne would have not any hesitation is signing up proven matchwinner. The fact is that they are baulking at this contract, which makes me think his body won't hold together for that long.

We should only draft or trade for 22-23 year olds. Only take mature players through the PSD.

Given Collingwood flat out refused to let Didak go as part of the Nick Stephens deal, I think it would be very unlikely. As much as I hate the filthy little bogan, he can be a match winner and the Pies wouldn't let him go.

That was a couple of years ago... there has been a fair bit of water under the bridge - that being said you are probably right. For some reason I just get the feeling that Mick doesn't want him around anymore (despite his obvious talents) and they may feel that the acquisition of a quality proven ruckman is just as critical than a potentially match winning small forward.

Whilst I agree that he can be a matchwinner, I personally think that he tries to take hangers far too often and in situations when it isn't warranted, because he has the nous to beat defenders at ground level. To that end, I wouldn't pick him up if he was fully fit. I think we have enough small forwards now in development. We need to focus on ruckmen and KPP.

dont need robbo at the tiges

but billy brownless said he was leaving the dees

i could see him at collingwood or geelong

also if sheeds get the melb gig i cant see him offloading robbo he would want to keep him for sure
