This bloke although regularly injured was a gun fast bowler.
I have not even heard his name mentioned anywhere this year with all our other fast bowlers going down.
Is he injured or did he retire?

With two cases of fast bowlers breaking down in a match and it costing us a victory of SA and almost this match, I doubt that they would ever take the chance on Harris ever again. Someone correct me if I'm worng but i don't think he has ever played more than 3 tests in a row without getting injured, way too high a risk to pick again.

Jim Maxwell, mentioned on the radio that he doesn't look like coming back. Which is a shame because as you fella's have mentioned he is a 'gun' bowler. I would like to see him used but maybe rotated often. However seem's like the rotation is not working!

Dont agree, Harris has never broken down mid Test - more to the point, I am sure he has broken down mid Test but he keeps bowling because he knows its almost over. Whereas the young uns have their whole career ahead. Wheel him out for India, he can play there, will get injured and then will retire. We should try to get a few more Tests out of him, given our current lack of bowlers.

well the horse had kinda bolted by the time he broke down
It's not a question of whether the horse had bolted or not, it's a question of whether or not we have a horse than can run out the distance and unfrotunately Harris is not that sort of horse.

Winning back the Ashes is not going to be easy and you'd have to expect each test to go into a 5th day, this means that you need each of your quicks to be able to bowl more than 40 overs in each test match, Harris has done that sort of workload twice in his career, when you then add in the fact he hasn't strung more than 3 tests together at any stage in his career I can see the warning lights going off in Sydney from Melbourne.

As much as I rate him as one of our top three quicks when fit, the risks are too high in playing him.

I don't see the risk in playing harris when he is fit, he breaks down a heck of a lot but unlike others this season like hilf and patto he doesn't usually break down during an actual game.

Anyway if we are going to rule him out thanks to his past injury record then we would have to rule out basically all our quicks except for siddle.
