Ask Carlton, Hawthorn or Collingwood, they're awesome recruiters apparently, everyone we take is a dud
Maybe Dodoro shouldn't have stated he had Ryder rated at number one ahead of the top six and you wouldn't cop trolls such as this. ;)

It's deserved.

No I agree with you, he looks like he isn't trying. But I think it is just how he looks, not how is playing though.

I don't want much from Ryder next season, but I do want him to show glimpses, many glimpses if possible of good footy next year. I don't think he has shown any at AFL level just yet.

i disagree,
if your talking glimpses... i beleive some of his tap ruck work was very good last year

Fair enough, and to be honest, I didn't really take that into account. I was more focusing on around the ground work, instead of one of the things he was actually drafted for.

They'll drum that into him about positioning and being accountable for his man, etc. When I used to play soccer, specifically up front in our local league, I was led to believe that I just roamed the 18 yard box and to kick the bloody thing when I was within striking distance. Set plays, running into position and creating a foil for a fellow stricker attacking midfielder suddenly made the position that much more complicated. Steep learning curve let me tell you.

Yeah sorry i didn't mean he wasn't trying, it's just frustrating to me that he looks like he's not, i agree that he would be lost been thrown in the deep end because we had no one else, that's why i wanted to know if he looked the same before he was drafted?

His tap work was alright i also agree with that but i just wanted to see a few big marks or a couple good goals like Laycock did when he just started out against Carlton. Asking a lot i know but he was a 1st round pick.

All fine but you have to remember that Laycock didnt play at all in his first year and he was pick number 10 in his draft.
