He wasn't a happy camper this time last year after his name was thrown up in trade talks. He's had another ordinary injury interupted year, CC said he was close to getting a call up to the senior side.

Ryley is contracted until the end of 2008 and has been dogged by injury, I feel for the kid with his name being bandaged about everytime trade week pops up.

Give him a chance - Don't let him prosper at another club, espicially Collingwood.

I cant see us getting a 2nd or 3rd round pick for him....
Correct me if im wrong but wasnt he pick 10 a few years ago...
I really think its worth keeping him for another year and see how he goes

Atleast Haines has shown a bit at afl and wafl level. Dunn has shown nothing at either level. If we can get a pick in the 2nd or 3rd rounds I'd be very happy.

If he was a 3rd round pick he would have been delisted by now. It's just because he was a dual AA as a junior that he is still with us, but plenty of junior stars don't go on with it. Someone built like Dunn is bound to dominate at junior level because he would have been 10 kilos heavier than all the other 17 year olds his height. When he comes up against men the same size as him, but read the play and have superior pace to him, he is found wanting.

Pick 10 in 2003.

Jobe Watson board. He was much the same for years and broke out this year.

I havn't given up on him just yet.

I just hope he can get a preseason under his belt next year.

The only thing going for him at the moment is that he was pick 10 a few years ago, that alone won't get us didley squat during trade week. We're better off holding on to him for another couple of years - he might just come good...

Without drawing too far into the comparison, because I haven't seen Dunn since he was playing U18's, Jobe was dominating VFL footy between injuries and played some good finals footy at AFL level.

From all reports Dunn hasn't done that.

Can't get a kick at the Sharks. If Dockers can't offload him then he gets to play out his final year on contract. If someone wanted him you would let him go without a second thought. Very disappointing player.

He's contracted till 2008. Freo obviously thought he showed something when they gave him a second contract last year and gave him 3 years instead of 2 years. I would think that the club would hang on for another year in the hope he comes good.

It's a bit harder to trade someone with 2 years left on a contract than just 1 year anyway. Not sure what Ryley would be on, but another club would have to believe that he will come good, or else they're taking on him and his salary, and if he doesn't improve and start getting a kick or two, then the new club will be paying a dud for 2 years instead of one. Much bigger risk for them.

I would love to have him at the Bombers as part of the Solly deal but if he is contracted for another 2 years i can't see how it will happen. I think you are more keen to get rid of Medhurst and Walker before Dunn.

Brett Peake didn't show much at WAFL level either but has proven he's got a bit of talent at AFL level. Playing for Australia now - a far cry from amatuers little more than two years ago!

In fairness to Ryley he probably came into AFL a bit too quick. This year could be his year.

true dom if we can get a third rounder for him we'd be doing very well.

Has fired a shot when fit(which hasn't been often since 2003) we don't need injury prone players. Couyldn't run out of sight on adark night.
If he stays will be a depth player. Too many in front of him with sound bodies.

It would be a steal to get a third rounder for him

Dunn fit and with a full preseason under his belt could be the big bodied midfielder we need, at least on paper. The question is is he good enough? Had all the wraps on him as a junior to be that very player. Hopefully 07 is the year we see it at AFL level.

Yep. He's worth more to us on our list than in a trade. So I'd give hime more time.
