This thread is purely to get an SA story on the top of the list, it seems Mr. Mobbenfuhrer posts a lot just to get Vic stories taking up the whole first page of the regional leagues section.

Why does the tosser put up 10 topics all in a matter of 15 minutes?

How hard is it to summarise his crap in one topic?

When I saw this thread i was reminded of when i was editing ShirtFront and we did a story on the Women's National Football championships under the headline 'Victorian Women On Top'.

'nuff said.

Anyway, one of the great things about this forum is hearing the news from far and wide, not just Victoria and South Australia.

I'm a football journalist. I've met Mobbenfuhrer, he's a wonderful bloke who loves country footy [ http://www.footypedia.com ] - which is more than can be said for most of the media in this country. He is not a ****er, and he is not your enemy.

At least one of the stories, about the Hume league, concerned a country NSW league.

If you want to talk about South Australian football, tell me a bit about Radlee Moller or Toby Kennet. They are part of a large number of SANFL players that are running around in the Sydney Australian Football league.

No, I don't follow the Swans.

Yes, I love footy.

I'm very well aware that with increases in insurance premiums, player costs, and a serious downturn in media and gate revenues; that football at all levels below the AFL is in serious financial trouble - no small part of the problem is caused by people who think that their club/league is the be all and end all of footy.

Footy is larger than any club, person or individual (except maybe that 28 stone full forward in tassie), and people need to make room for what others think.

If South australian Football is so morally superior to all other life forms then no doubt it shouldn't make you feel threatened and inadequate.

Kev...err...Mobben does a phenomenal job in providing information that would otherwise be impossible to locate if you lived outside metropolitan Melbourne or Adelaide. The same is true for those who post info about the SANFL (which I also follow, I'm a Bloods fan after living in Mile End for the worst ten years of my life in 1988). Without this forum I wouldn't know what was going on, but I doubt I'd spend a lot of time in an SANFL only forum either.

the SANFL contributions enhance this forum, as does stuff from Darwin, Tasmania, West Australia and the Tiwi ****ing Islands.

i think you should apologise to Mobben, Rooster (I work for the person who used to be North's office assistant at Prospect Oval - so it's nothing personal on my behalf). It was a cheap shot, and wasn't really called for.

My mobile is 0415 463 585 if you want to chat about this at any time.

I would be very interested to know how Toby Kennett is doing in the Sydney league, tell me more. He came originally from Sturt, my boys, so I'm keen to know.

Does this mean you lived here from '78-'88 or '88-'98 or that '88 felt like ten years?
Cheers, and Rock On.

Id much rather read his "crap" than any of your knowledgeless rants anyday

Here's a profile I wrote for the Sydney Football League Record about Toby prior to Round One. He is still recovering from Injury, but as North Shore - his new club - don't have a game this week he is expected back in the top of the table round 6 clash with Troy Luff's Balmain on Saturday night, May 18.

Any info on his career at Sturt would be greatfully appreciated. i do a radio spot on saturday mornings at some ungodly hour and it'd be a nice thing to talk about - a sort of where were they then segment...

Toby Kennett
(North Shore)

North Shore’s Toby Kennett is a new face around the Sydney Football League. Born in Adelaide 25 years ago in June, Toby has been attracted to Sydney for the surf as much as the Football skills that saw him play at the SANFL level in his home state.
He lists the 1998 Grand final against Port Adelaide as his toughest encounter on the footy field.
While on the field Toby is concentrating on playing at his best for North Shore, off the field his great love is surfing. This has made his move to Sydney a good one as far as Toby is concerned.
Currently he is recovering from an operation which will see Toby out of action for the first few weeks, which disappoints Toby: ‘This year and the next few years I’m concentrating on North Shore. Obviously I’d like to win another premiership with them.’
A fan of alternative music who likes Thai Food, Toby gets around in an ‘88 Falcon wagon, which is perfect for getting to the Sydney Beaches he loves so much. His favourite sporting figure has never even pulled on a pair of footy boots – it’s surfing great Marc Occulupo!
Despite his love of a wave he has no nickname – or none that he would reveal!
Although he did acknowledge he had had a nickname in the past, as to what it was remains a mystery.
With a job in the AMP Commissions Department Toby would like to get more into marketing, and describes himself as single – at the moment.
It’s great to see the attractions of Sydney, such as it’s beautiful surf, attracting quality players to this competition.
And let’s hope Toby enjoys a speedy recovery so we can see him on a football ground soon – and on a wave as well no doubt!

For the first question, 'cause they each concerned different leagues, and were considered worth a thread of their own.

For the second, bloody easy, actually, but then I wouldn't have been sufficiently able to feed my self-adulation complex.

I was going to make a mention of Mundulla, but then decided that it was all a moot point.

Nobody got my Mundulla pun?

I thought the South Aussie's would get it, the town is in SA, after all ...

by the way, it was good to see their stranglehold over the KNTFL finally take a bit of a tumble. I dunno who won the inaugural flag in 1993, but 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99 & 2000 all went to Mundulla.

Penola (a SA team) got up in 2001, defeating Mundulla by 15 points in the Granny.

The team I follow in the KNTFL, Padthaway (a SA team) (being the lions of course), didn't figure in the finals (of course).

The two Vic clubs, Edenhope-Apsley and Kaniva-Leeor, have generally been cellar-dwellars most of the last few years, although Ede-Asp (not to be confused with the MPNFL team) have improved of recent.

And does any club name/nickname combo roll off the tongue worse than the Keith Crows? They should have chosen something more musical, such as, perhaps, the "Ersutherlands".

Nah, don't knock RoosterWedgie, I don't need an apology ... he/she's just doing their bit for the SA/Vic aggro thing, and I think we'd all agree there'd be something missing in our lives if we didn't have that!

Very funny. Although Mundulla is a dirty word in Kingston. There should be a limit on the number of players in one team with the same surname.
Do you know how the Moots are going this year? I have heard nothing from KNTFL.

And do you hear anyone complaining about that?! :p And it was only the Harris Scarfes catalogue!!
