I think you need to shut it. Everywhere I go on this board you always have something to say, whether it be whinging or complaining. Russian and rizzo are more than capable of handling the running of this game without any of your inputs.

I think Roylion does the best in selecting his side each week, because of how he has every player listed with why or why not they are playing, i think he should stay and im glad rizzo and Russian are not forcing him out of the comp.

You got any proof that i need to shut up?... If Russian and Rizzo are capable of running this game, why are they asking for our input?
Suppose Roylion does a good job in guessing who is playing each week?... when he hasn't even seem the teams!...Sante your not one that can talk to... due to the fact that when i played you two weeks ago you named players that weren't even playing suppose your a great manager to yeah?
You two are as bright as each other... no wonder you two did sweet trades with each other.

I'll explain this one last time seeing Gaz_87 obviously has trouble understanding plain English. Why I need to justify this to Gaz_87 in the first place is a good question seeing that he does not run this competition, he has no vested interest in what the Carlton Lions do and largely because his team will not be playing finals and mine will. Who's the better manager again?
Due to work commitments, I sometimes have no access to a computer or the Internet on a Thursday night or Friday. My occupation involves the occasional travel and lately over the past few weeks, I have been required to visit other towns on a Friday. Depending on the destination, I leave on Thursday afternoon or night. Today I will be leaving work at 3.45 pm to travel to Albury-Wodonga (a four hour trip). The motel I will be staying in tonight may or may not have Internet access. I will be returning on Saturday night or on Friday night (if I am lucky), which could possibly mean I miss the deadline for this week's team. I consider the non-submission of a team to be far, far worse that an early submission of a team and seeing that Gaz_87 has condemned others for missing deadlines I find it absolutely amazing that he now condemns me for submitting a team earlier, when clearly some weeks I have no opportunity to submit a team in the time frame he considers acceptable. (i.e. a 24 hour period between the naming of the team and the beginning of the first game of the weekend. As far as I am aware there was no suggestion earlier in the season that this game was only to be played for a set 24 hour period during the week. Clearly His Lordship Gaz_87 has decided that because he plays the game in a certain way, that everyone must play it his way.
Probably Gaz_87 has not worked out yet that naming a team earlier than Thursday night is actually a disadvantage, because players that are playing that weekend may be left out. I don't know about him, but I'm attempting to get the Carlton Lions as high on the ladder as I possibly can, which should be the aim of every coach. I think the results of this season bear out my point in regards to the Carlton Lions, as we will be playing in the finals. I don't think Gaz_87's team will be.
(And yes the Carlton Lions consider themselves to be in a rebuilding phase as well. Carlton had close to the worst list in the competition at the beginning of the season. Clearly we're doing better than good old Gaz's team at the moment.)
As I have said before, I'll be continuing to name my best 22 each week, as I have for the entire season. Sometimes I haven't had 22 selected players to name and have just filled the other 2-3 places with players I consider to be closest to selection or players named as emergencies. I don't name injured or suspended players, where I can help it, although occasionally late withdrawals do complicate matters. Note that I have not missed one deadline in this game for this season, nor have I missed a deadline in the other game I play on these boards, in which I'm currently running fourth. I also play two other Australian Rules football management games outside these boards and am running second and fourth in what are sixteen team competitions. On the AFL Dreamteam Competition, (where I also select my team early, if I have to), I'm running second with one loss for the year. This is not to demonstrate or boast about how great a manager I am but to demonstrate that I'm actively involved in a number of games that have deadlines and that early selection in some does not necessarily hinder one's ability to do reasonably well. This is what Gaz seems to be implying.
If I see fit, I'll also be continuing to name each week's side earlier than team selection on Thursday. I'll be travelling next Thursday afternoon as well and I'll be naming my finals team early. I'll name the closest team that I can and hope that they're all selected. If I manage to get access to a computer with the Internet and I get time (as happens on occasion), I'll edit my team with the appropriate changes. I was able to do this last week, but probably won't this week All players on my list are accounted for each week.
I also intend playing next season and I'll be adopting the same system.
Where are you on the ladder again? For someone that's such a "great" manager (trades, team selections, drafting) why aren't you on top of the ladder? Why aren't you at least playing finals? I guess the managers that aren't as "bright" as you are, can take away a number of excellent lessons from you on how to coach/manage a team to finish in the bottom half of the ladder, especially in the first year of the competition and with two trading periods.
I've been playing football management games for the last 15 years against a whole host of people and Gaz_87 would be close to the worst (if not the worst) I have come across for general arrogance (such as the 'sweet trades" comment) and general whining. If he's not whining about deadlines not being met, then he's whining about people such as myself who do attempt to meet each week's deadline. Congratulations! Most people if they have a complaint would usually PM the organisers and see if THEY have a problem, without resorting to this sort of public attack. Not Gaz_87 though! Obviously he feels some repressed need to big note himself on this board about what a clearly fantastic coach he is and how "stupid" everyone else is who don't do exactly what he does.
To all other coaches I apologise for this post. However seeing Gaz_87 felt the need in the first place to publicly call for my sacking, I therefore also felt the need to publicly defend my position. However this will be the last time I justify my early naming of a team. If the need arises again (and it will next week), I will be doing exactly the same both for the remainder of this season and the next. Gaz_87 can complain all he likes, to whoever he likes, but it won't make a scrap of difference to me.
And it's also the last I'll be saying on the matter. I'll just be getting on playing the game to the best of my ability.

Well i can't be f**ked quoting what you said due to the fact it is the biggest load of bullsiI-It i have heard in me life.
Due to a team having a great injury list which has seen our top players out for a good part of the season which has include:
Mark Coughlan
Simon Goodwin
Brett Mongomery
Andrew Kellaway
Chris Ladhams
Daniel Ward
Shane O'Bree
James McDonald
These players would walk in to most sides and take a starting role!
By not naming a side that doesn't have players playing every week you have been giving players that score best of your list of players that you didn't name which gives you and advantage... am i correct in saying that?
Also about your AFL Dreamteam team you must be in a poor league if you are running second cause i'm in a hard one and i'm running a lazy 3rd.
And to the rest of it i can't be stuffed answering cause i'm not wasting my time reading your trash.

Yes I thought anything over three or four sentences would be too taxing for you to read, much less understand. However it wasn't really meant for you. It was so other coaches and the organisers could see where I was coming from.
Well boo-hoo. We've all had injury problems during the year. Richardson, Saddington, Hulme, French, Fosdike, Shattock, Wiggins, Cox are all playing regular senior football and have all missed chunks for the year for me. That's all part of the game.
Not in my case you're not. I've never had more than 22 players to select from in any one week and often far below that. 15 has been the lowest. I was under the impression that players not named in the best 22 did not score for that week. If that's not a rule, it should be for next season. I have received no advantage for naming sides early, simply because I haven't had the players selected or available. In fact I've only named a side early for two of the 15 rounds. In all other cases they've either been named on Thursday-Friday or edited on the Friday.

It appears you struggle with basic comprehension. Didn't read what I wrote earlier? I even kept it nice and short for you.
For 13 of the 15 rounds, my final team has been named after the announcement of AFL teams. For all 15 rounds, I've had virtually no replacements from my announced tream. However let's not let the facts get in the way of a good story.
