We want to sack everyone else to do with Richmond, now its us.

Maybe we (members since back in the day) that are the reason we are still like we are, culture. :thumbsu:

I say sack the old members and bring in the "kids". We are starting from scratch/rebuilding everwhere else, so why not the members?

This should stir the oldies up :p

dude, i will be straight up.
sack the old members? Lets me ask you this. Do you get asked what the hell possesed you to be a tiger? What is your answer? I know if i was the asker, i would think you were totally stupid and brain dead whatever your answer was.
Now switch it up and the same question is asked to an older member.
See the difference stupid? ;)

I know you are joking Sante but to me thats like saying Anzac Day would be better without war veterans. Kill us off and you lose all links to our past and FFS after the last 27 years our past is all we have to keep us going some times! I felt really sad the other week when someone posted a thread about most memorable game and 90% of the postings didnt include a premiership. I say keep us oldies, at least while we have one part of us that we can make wrinkle free anyhow!

As TT said Sante ... i know this is a joke

but..

Who do you think has kept this club alive for the last 25 years ?

Who has turned up in droves every year despite our shyteness and bought memberships and rattled cans ?

Who is the reason we have nearly 30,000 members despite our horrific results during this period ? You only have to look at the struggles of other victorian teams who have had much greater success than us , finals appearences , premierships etc. ... imagine when we "FINALLY" put together a team that can actually play ... how strong our club will be ? We are such a joke on-field and yet we still pull these numbers

Good try Sante but you took a very poor aim ... if anything the younger generation should pay homage to us for being responsible for keeping our club alive , keeping the true tiger spirit alive , the cockiness despite being so shit , the "not taking any cr@p from anyone attitude"

The sad reality is that it is actually happening.

Pink slips are being passed out now as each game goes by.

Met up with a once mad Richmond fan who admittedly now has family but couldnt care what is going on. Stopped going about two years ago.

Not an isolated case. I have to admit to reviewing how many games Ill go to.

Ill stick with us but i am seeing a bit of apathy setting in amongst us thirty somethings.

I have my 9yo supporting the club even though his friends are supporting other clubs (that are doing better). I told him when he was little that we are Tigers and he has accepted it and never questioned it.

My 5yo is proving more difficult. Apart from the fact that he says he hates football and wants me to turn it off if I am watching a game on the telly. he is talking about following the Pies like his Mum (yes I know I have poor taste in women:) ). I will put in the work and hopefully convert him.

The point I am trying to make is that without the old supporters there would be no young ones...

Cogga - I think you are too old to be posting, I didn't know old folk homes had computers let alone the internet :p

Like i said before dude. I dont get asked why i am sticking with them, since the group you are talking about has actually partied harder than most with success. The bonus is that not only have we partied with a few flags, we had the icing on the cake, in 80, not by beating the pies, by making their supporters feel like we did agains the cats the other week at a granny.
Now what do you say when you are askes by inqusitive people as to how why on earth have you subjected yourself to a life of heartache and pain?
And when you give them the answer or the answers, how long is it before they stop laughing at you? ;)

How old or young is the cut off point to be either a young or old member?

Seen a Richmond premiership or not.

If you have, you're old.

If you haven't, you're young.

Younger members > Older members.

Close thread.

Agree, good post, well said. Let's hope the old buggers can't get their wheelchairs after us...

I have but I don't remember it as I was only 2 years old. So I will count myself as young.

At least the older supporters have seen success. They have got to celebrate a prmiership. I have followed all my life copping shit from everone(especially dad, a Collingwood supporter)with my biggest hightlight being a semi win over Essendon.

Love your style Tigerrific and don't give up on that 5yr old. He can't go over to the dark side.

youngsters love winners how many generations have we lost over the last 25 yrs.i would bet the average age of tiger members would be 35 to 40 with the majority of members in the 30 to 50 age bracket.
