I'm quite happy with this trade. We desperately need a quality key defender and make no mistake Saddington can be a darn good player. It's just whether he'll stay clear of injury or not, having gone thru a knee reco already.

If he stays fit, he'll be a good pickup, and the pick we traded means we've effectively got him for free anyway (aside from his contract!).

Absolute steal for your guys and, like other Swans fans, I'm mightily ********ed off that the Swans let him go so cheaply. There is no reason at all why he shouldn't fully recover from his ACL injury - he's already 15 months off it. He is very mobile, a great mark and decently skilled all round. If he gets his confidence back you will have a very competent player on your hands.

Never rated him. Will be ok for the Blues though, just dont play him on the likes of your Lloyds, Halls etc. He'll get mauled.

Very nice pickup IMO. He's only 25, and he is something we are sorely lacking - a key defender who can run through the lines a bit of halfback.

For pick 52 thats handy, definitely worth gambling on his injury
