His Bendigo Cup win was awesome but tonight to sit outside Blacks A Fake and beat him was just unbelievable. Cant wait until the Interdom Final, if the same scenario occured with BAF in front surely Nat would try and stay a length clear of Safari the whole way and not be dominated like he was tonight.

He went unbelievable.....again.

Hurts me to say I can see why people question harness racing though?
I realise he's had lots of problems & I know they were very different races but Safari went 100 mtrs worse last week.
Sadly the stewards report will be the most talked about part of the race.

Yeah i don't understand it.
I back Safari last week from the stand which is most suited than BOF from the stand and it runs like a dog then i get off the camel and it beats BOF from the mobile

**** harness racing its a bunch of shit its like they take in turns who wins.

Also backed Diamonds N Furs last week at the Valley and whatya know it runs like a donkey yet comes out tonight and mauls em, ah i don't ****en know.

****en harness racing can't follow the shit.

Lets hope it turns around on my birthday on Hunter Cup Day when i'm at the Valley.

Safari rehandicapped to 10m in the H Cup.

Why would you think that Ron?
Im yet to see any horse, including Flashing Red do that to BAF.
Was there any fluke about it?

Hutchy pointed out on In The Gig after the MV run that Safari is a one dimensional horse and simply isnt capable of winning or even running a decent race when he doesnt settle in the first 2. He was hanging badly out 3 wide last week and the horse simply wasnt comfortable. Seems like a fair statement, and he will be charging forward early next week.

Yep I agree,so what were they doing sitting back last week letting BAF get away with a 60.8 1st half?
Even if the death wasnt there, surely he's better sitting 3 wide the last 1400m?
$2.25 fave & never put in the race.......

Yeah heaps more winners on the Gallops hey?:p

Safari was SR1 last week in a Stand start.
No hope from there IMO.
Off the front row a different story.

Still didn't think I would ever see Blackie lose to a death seat horse .
Nat should have kept Blackie in front IMO but perhaps he wasn't traveling at his best.
I can only think that BAF isn't quiet at his best at the moment as i just can't see how Nat wouldn't try and keep Safari behind or at least level.

In this case it was Safari that applied the pressure which is what BAF generally loves to do.

No question that Safari is at his best when can lead whilst BAF usually would be the grinder.

Im sure Nat didnt think she could ever lose to a death seat horse either, certainly not one running sub 30 quarters all the way. She will have learnt from this though and next time (if Safari is oustide BAF) im sure she will do everything to stay atleast half a length in front. Despite both going very quickly they cleared out from the others, i would love to see BAF lead Safari in the Interdom final, it would just be a 2 horse war from the 2500 but i think there would be a different result with Nat ready for it this time.

Seth, i think Safari was 3 wide from the 1400 in the MV Cup, they just came home in 56 odd which isnt really possible to do out 3-wide especially when the horse struggled to get around the turns.

Completely different story this race to last weeks.
Nat done the right thing on BAF, if you watch his races he sort of relaxes once in front down the straight, only does what he has to do, but when hes behind hes a fighter, he was gone at the turn but halfway at the straight he nearly had him, Safari must be slightly fitter.
And Stuff seeing BAF get the lead and Safari sit outside him in the Inter. Safari needs the lead and BAF the death and BAF wins, very memorable third inter indeed, even if my pocket loses out.
Seeing the champ get beat and everyone jump on the Safari bandwagon makes me wanna jump back onto BAF, which Im doing!
God love blacky!

The result is great for the upcoming Inter, interesting to see how Safari backs up next week.
In the past he's struggled to reproduce after those massive efforts.
Not sure who will wanna hold him out though?

Yeh I know he was 3 wide from the 1400 but he was 20m off them.
Why not be 3 wide 5 mtrs off them? Sitting wide is obviously no problem.
They walked early, thats why BAF went to the death.

Everyone claims Safari has to be near the lead,if thats so why would they think he's suddenly gunna break 56 home 3/4 wide?

Because BAF drew 1,was $1.4 & I cant remember him ever losing when leading.

Safari still had his head on the side. You only have to go through the last couple of years Ballarat cup results to see the Tonkin camp rise to the occasion. I think Robin Hood helped early having a dig for the lead.
