I do feel that Rozee would look damn good in a number 4 guernsey at St Kilda.

150 games, 124 goal, captain of his club and 2x All Australian. I'm sorry, but his career says otherwise in comparison to King. Who is still a project player at best 8 years into his career.

Anyway, it's moot. We don't have either playing for us at the moment.
Hopefully we look at a Shanahan type, or someone youthful and energetic, who has some legitimate forward nous and craft, and who actually compliments our exciting list going forward.

Every sucessful club needs at least one dominant key forward to make it. I profess to not being Max Kings greatest fan over time, but without a shadow of a doubt we are a much better side with him playing.

At the time of his last contract signing, nobody could foresee his current injury run. That's footy and the risks clubs have to take with keeping lists together. I'm sure many would be tearing up their memberships if the club didn't get him signed.

It has been a frustrating period, as we have had a 'lions share' of bad luck with injuries and poor injury management. But in Max's case there is still plenty of time for him to return and a have significant career. Even lead us to our next flag...

The club has never been in a better position and more professionally run, so have faith they will be doing everything possible to get him playing again.

This Max stuff is just a blip in road, fed by some in the media who take every opportunity to take a swing at our beloved club. Let's not get sucked into their insecurities that the Saints might actually be on the cusp of something great.

Like most I love this club, they are an extension of my family and when things are going well the club fills us with the greatest enjoyment and pride.

I have a sense this year is going to be an absolute cracker, so lets sit back and enjoy every minute.

It was a pretty easy line to follow.

Was Max or Ben the better draft choice. Clearly in hindsight you’d say Ben has worked out better to date but NO ONE would have said that at the time.

Given no one would have said that at the time the discussion became was Max or Connor the better draft choice.

Again, no brainer to date.

I'm confident that Max gets back this year and puts this all behind him. I reckon he plays at least half the season but there was every reason not to give him a long contract seeing as he was already showing that he had a less than resilient body at that point. I understand if there were other offers and it was the only way to keep hold of him but there wasn't.

It could end up still being a masterstroke if he gets through the knee and gets to play the bulk of this season at the level of Ben even, but it was a extremely high risk move with hard to see benefits other than hoping to sign him on less coin than we thought he'd be able to ask in the future. Alister Lynch did it back in the day and it ended up being an incredible move but it's a high risk gamble.
